Off the back of an epic US festival debut at Lollapalooza (pictured above), Melbourne-based multi-talented performer G Flip (Georgia Flipo) today shares a stripped-back rendition of latest single ‘Stupid’. Featuring a string quartet, the live performance was filmed at Box Hill Institute, where G previously studied drums.

G says: “Before production I would perform ‘Stupid’ with just me and a guitar but I’ve always envisioned this song with a string quartet. I’ve been very excited to finally create this.”

It’s been a massive couple of weeks for G Flip, who recently announced her debut album About Us (due out 30 August via Future Classic) and accompanying Australian headline tour. Tickets to all five original dates in Adelaide, Fremantle, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney have sold out and a second show has now been added in each capital city.

The past 18 months have proven to be beyond G Flip’s wildest dreams. Since launching ‘About You’ on triple j Unearthed early last year, she has toured the world multiple times, sold out three Australian headline tours, dominated festival stages including Splendour, Laneway and Groovin The Moo, landed two songs in the Hottest 100, won the AIR Award for Breakthrough Independent Artist of the Year and been streamed over 50 million times.

G Flip shined at her US festival debut over the weekend at Lollapalooza. She will soon return home for triple j’s One Night Stand, the ‘About Us’ Australian headline tour and the sold-out Spilt Milk Festival. All tour dates listed below.
