Blurring the lines between real life and virtual reality, Gig VR today announce a series of events with the first to feature veteran lo-fi punks Bleeding Knees Club at The Zoo in Brisbane on January 24th.
Designed to be enjoyed IRL or at home, Gig VR captures all the antics of the night’s gig with their 360° technology which is then live streamed to those at home, giving those who missed out on tickets a chance to enjoy the show, or punters a chance to re-live the experience from every angle through the Gig VR platform.
Aiming to showcase and promote homegrown Aussie talent their first ever event will be headlined by Bleeding Knees Club who have just revealed their latest single ‘Spin’, off the back of their second album ‘Fade The Hammer’ which stormed into playlists last year.
Gig VR co-founder Phil Sheen has a special connection with the band, stating “We first started filming bands at The Zoo and one of our very first was Bleeding Knees Club, it’s great to come full circle and launch the event series where we started.”
They’ll be supported by genre-amalgamators The Jensens, sweat-inducing punk rockers Whalehouse and the notoriously fun Perve Endings.

Using immersive 360° camera technology to capture live shows, the Gig VR team are the first of their kind in the country, showcasing intimate and exclusive experiences with some of Australia’s most loved acts; Gig VR have grown and established a strong reputation in a short space of time. Beginning in Brisbane in 2017, they’ve already filmed with the likes of Lime Cordiale, DZ Deathrays, The Chats, OneFour, Toro Y Moi, Miami Horror, Dune Rats, You Am I and Genesis Owusu as well as filming content with Woodford Folk Festival. They were also selected as a part of BIGSOUND’s BIGTECH showcase this year and listed as a top 25 channel on SamsungVR.com. 2020 will see Gig VR expand internationally as they set up an office in Japan and combine with European festivals to create unique content.
Be apart of the future of music – either in person, or at home – when Gig VR takes over The Zoo.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
