About GLACMANIS
Glacmanis are a Manchester-based alternative rock 4-piece formed in 2022 by childhood friends Josh Haylock (rhythm guitar, vocals) and Matt Lewis (bass guitar, vocals).
Olli Sharp (drums) joined in 2024 and they have become a regular of the Manchester music scene in the past year. The 2025 arrival of Callum Bancroft (lead guitar) completed the lineup.
Their new EP ‘Songs for a Chase Sequence’ draws influence from the likes of the Talking Heads, New Order, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes and Television.
About SONGS FOR A CHASE SEQUENCE
This is our first project with our current lineup. It was broadly inspired by the early 2000s New York indie scene, and its own post-punk motifs, whilst maintaining our own DIY ethic and ethos. We utilised a mixture of analog and digital equipment to pursue a deeper progressive tone. The strongest moments on the EP came from the most collaborative moments and jam sessions, and lyrically the EP is somewhat similar to Geordie Greep’s recent solo album in its theme of ridiculing a particular type of masculinity and the areas it permeates. There is also some mocking of ‘nepo babies’ and the contemporary music industry’s lack of enthusiasm to find great artists.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
