2018 was a massive year for WA’s Good Doogs. They released three singles (“Nothing To Do“, “So Dumb” and “Want That“) which all received significant radio airplay on triple j, triple j unearthed, and community radio around the country, a few hundred thousand streams, as well as packed up the van for four (yes, FOUR) laps of the country.

As well as going on tour with Tired Lion and DZ Deathrays, and being invited to play BIGSOUND Festival, 2018 also saw The Doogs selling out their first ever headline shows outside WA – capping rooms in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Sydney and playing to the biggest crowds of their career. The only thing that stopped them doing another lap was mum would be super mad if they didn’t come home for Chrissy lunch.

In celebration of new single “Nobody/Alone” and it’s indescribable Benny Benassi-inspired new music video (below), The Doogs are heading out on tour again, this time making 10 stops around the country for 18+ and U18 fans throughout May and June.

Breakout single “Nothing To Do” blasted the Doogs into the ears of fans Australia wide. Receiving major airplay from triple j and triple j unearthed – including being invited to play Groovin The Moo in Bunbury as well as being picked as unearthed Feature Artist that month – the break out single gained comparisons to Skegss, Wavves, Hockey Dad, and Dune Rats, and also led them to play some of their biggest shows so far.

The success of “Nothing To Do” packed out the rooms of their first ever East Coast tour, playing to hundreds of kids in Brisbane, Melbourne, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Wollongong, and Perth. It also led to signing with Adam Montgomery at recently announced new booking agency Fourtone Artists (along with A. Swayze & The Ghosts, Bec Sandridge, Gold Class, The Gooch Palms, IV League, Slowly Slowly), and a sponsorship from major surf brand Rusty. Not bad for a first tour.

They then released follow up single “So Dumb” before heading off on a sold-out Cap city Australian tour supporting WA pals Tired Lion. Playing to packed out sweaty crowds every night, the shows proved The Doogs were more than just a party band here to have a good time. They mean business. Although, they did give themselves tattoos in the green room… but that’s a different story.

Taking the single out on their own tour which included a mainstage performance at BIGSOUND Festival – the band sold out the entire run of headline shows through all the capital cities in the country.

They also got the noble nod of “most hit unearthed profiles of 2018” – sharing the list with G Flip, Ruby Fields, Slowly Slowly, CLEWS, and Didirri – and then premiered the video for “So Dumb” on triple j unearthed and tallied up an impressive 50k views along with reviews such as “THE perfect track for summer” (Claire Mooney, triple j unearthed).

Next track “Want That” Premiered on triple j’s 2018 with Richard Kingsmill, the laid-back introspective punk-rock jam is a melodic ode to putting things off. If you’re going to procrastinate, you might as well head bang while you wait. The boys loaded the van and took the track around the country for their fourth lap of the year (including break out slots at Shakafest and Festival of the Sun) – this time selling out every show but one!

Now to kick off 2019 we have the boys dropping their new song “Nobody/Alone” which already has everyone licking their lips for some more surf rock fun, and playing at a town or city (hopefully) near you soon!
