Eora/Sydney-based Music Services Company Good Intent are excited to announce their fifth birthday celebrations, to be held at Black Bear Lodge, Meanjin/Brisbane on the eve of industry mutual admiration society event BIGSOUND.
The night is set to feature live sets from Yugambeh/Gold Coast-based party starters Bootleg Rascal and local alt-pop darlings JUNO, plus DJ sets from the likes of Emmy Mack (RedHook / triple j), Jimmy Kleiner (Select Music) and Good Intent DJ’s.
Managing Director, Rob Carroll, will also attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the ‘longest dancing of the Macarena’.
Rob talks about five years of Good Intent: “I’m really tired. That aside, I feel extremely grateful to have made it to five years and build something really special with some great friends, Nick Moran and Rick Bridgman. Thank you to all our team, artists, managers, labels, promoters, media, venues and anyone else who supports us – we wouldn’t be here today without you. We’re always striving to do our best for the wider music community, and that approach will always continue for as long as we can / until hopefully some bigger company buys us out, and I can finally shave my head, get all spiritual and move to India.”
The agency is community focused with initiatives such as the ‘Greater Good‘ – an annual program that gives back to the independent artist community, by providing in-kind services and a cash grant totalling $20,000 AUD, alongside their project partners Studios 301, Media Arts Lawyers, White Sky, Zenith Records, PLAKKIT, Billy Zammit, Ben Mitchell and Make Merchandise.
When Australian Music Month hits in November, Good Intent open the doors to their photography/videography studio Good Loco, giving away complimentary dry hire to the space to independent artists. They also sponsor local junior Rugby League team Alexandria Rovers, and hold ongoing fundraising efforts for Support Act, of which the agency has raised thousands of dollars to date.
Good Intent offers a range of services across radio plugging, playlist pitching, worldwide blogs, digital marketing, label services, tastemaker club and radio promo, artist management, venue bookings and run a photography / videography studio Good Loco out of their Bulanaming/Marrickville-based office.
Current clients include Anjunadeep, BMG, Bootleg Rascal, Chromeo (CAN), Close Counters, COTERIE, Destroy All Lines, DOPE LEMON, FANGZ, Future Static, JUNO, Pacific Avenue and RedHook. Over the years, Good Intent has also worked with the likes of A.GIRL, American Hi-Fi (USA), Astral People, Bas, Chugg Music, Freddie Gibbs, Handsome Tours, LUUDE, Sony Music, TMRW Music and Universal Music Group.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
