Set to perform this October and November on their biggest tour to date, today Great Gable announces the release of their debut album Tracing Faces, available Friday 7 August via ADA Worldwide.  Alongside the announcement, the Perth four-piece have shared the potent and propulsive new single Blur.

Flooded with hypnotic grooves and buoyant vocal melodies, Blur chronicles life on the road.

“The song is about how touring has its ups and downs. The constant travel can be exhausting but playing the shows makes it all worth it,” says front man Alex Whiteman of the track.

Directed, produced, scored, filmed and starring Great Gable in a double denim extravaganza, the equally irresistible companion video was captured at GGHQ with their vintage dad cam.

“Our manager set us a challenge to plan, record, and then edit a full music video within a typical work day of eight hours. We did it in five. As you can see, we took it very seriously and are considering taking jobs in the film industry,” says lead guitarist Matt Preen of the clip.

The album – which follows 2019’s Lazy Bones Tapes EP, sees Great Gable’s classic sound augmented and empowered by producers Alex Heriksson and Matt Corby.  Recorded at The Music Farm in Byron Bay, Tracing Faces is an indie pop gem tackling themes of love, heartbreak and mental health all while basking in the golden hour glow.  Featuring the aforementioned Blur and recent breakthrough single All My Friends, their debut LP is upbeat yet dreamy, lush and vulnerable and a giant leap forward from one of Perth’s most exciting new artists.

“Being engulfed in nature definitely influenced the overall vibe of what we came out with,” says bassist Chris Bye of the recording process.   “It was sick working with Alex Henriksson & Matt Corby on the album, they are full legends. They helped us to write better tunes and really inspired us,” adds drummer Callum Guy.

This October and November,  Great Gable will perform in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, with new dates recently added in Wollongong, Hobart, Torquay and Maroochydore. The Perth four-piece will also travel across the Tasman sea for shows in Christchurch, Auckland and Wellington.   Perth nu-soul R&B producer Jamilla will accompany Great Gable on the tour to open all shows.  Melbourne-based Velvet Bloom will deliver her unique blend of jazz, pop and soul to all Australian shows.  Additional special guests will be announced in due course.

Great Gable has quickly amassed a fervent, die-hard fanbase following the 2019 release of The Lazy Bones EP featuring singles I Swear and Cool Mind Blue. Renowned for their mesmerising and commanding live performance, they’ve supported the likes of Ocean Alley, The Jungle Giants, Thelma Plum and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and performed festival sets at Groovin The Moo, Falls Festival and SOTA Fest.
