Greta Stanley releases her emotive new single ‘Hope It Lands’, an immediately captivating track about wanting to connect and push yourself out of your comfort zone. The song showcases danceable beats and 80s power synths, perfectly complemented by the young songstresses’ powerful vocals, which layer, call and echo as the song builds.
Taken from her forthcoming sophomore album, ‘Hope It Lands’ is a collaboration with producer/co-writer Tristan Barton, who is best known for his acclaimed film soundtrack work. It’s immediately clear that the combination of Stanley’s warm, natural pop sensibilities and the textural depth of Barton’s day job work is a winning formula.
Greta says of the song: “I wrote Hope It Lands when I was in a low headspace and struggling to be social. It’s about a kind of longing to be this person who went out and had ‘fun’ and what might come about if I did go to parties. At the time I was feeling really lonely, but I found it hard to meet anybody or build connections because I was struggling to put myself out there. So it was this kind of alter ego view of who I’d be or what kind of night I’d have if I could have had the courage to say yes to events and step out of this comfort zone or safe zone I was in at the time.”
Alongside the single release, Greta also releases the official video for ‘Hope It Lands’, created with Thomas Calder AKA Daggy Man. The video follows a dreamlike Greta as she dances and interacts with a faceless human, her likeness overlapping along with her vocals, becoming gradually more distorted and chaotic reflecting the impassioned soundscape that she exists in.
Of the video director Thomas Calder writes “I’ve been wanting to work with Greta in one way or another for a long time – So it was a real privilege to be asked to lend some visual madness to her world. I wanted to create something voyeuristic and slightly unnerving, that would hopefully contribute to the overarching theme of the song itself. I was blessed with both trust and creative freedom by Greta and her team – And I can’t think of a more ideal collaborator – I’m such a big fan of what she does.”

AMNPLIFY – JC
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
