Four Corners investigation

Hack’s Avani Dias

From next week, triple j Hack presenter Avani Dias will be taking a short break from her daily hosting duties to work on a collaborative investigation with ABC’s prestigious Four Corners. The program will be the first collaboration between triple j Hack and Four Corners.

In the last 12 months alone, Avani has received the Premier’s Multicultural Communications Award and been nominated for a Walkley Award, and taken over daily hosting duties for triple j Hack.

Avani says “This is an investigation that will speak to the experiences of many young Australians. Four Corners has an incredible legacy of creating positive change through shedding light on the most important issues, we’re hoping this piece will do the same. I’m grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to get into it.”

While Avani works with Australia’s leading investigative journalism program, triple j Hack will be hosted by a roster of three incredible journalists: Jo Lauder, Isabella Higgins and Dave Marchese.

Jo Lauder is a familiar voice already on triple j Hack as the team’s Melbourne reporter and is one of this year’s International Metcalf Institute Climate Fellows; Isabella Higgins is the ABC National Indigenous Affairs Correspondent and a proud Torres Strait Islander woman whose reporting on youth suicides won her a Young Walkley Award in 2019. Dave Marchese is best known to triple j audiences as the ‘News Prince’ on triple j Breakfast and has been a journalist at the ABC for 10 years, covering everything from murder trials to politics and much more.

The collaborative investigation will air on Four Corners and Hack in October – the subject of the investigation and more details to come.
