Melbourne-based indie rockers Halcyon Drive have just delivered the gorgeous rendition of their latest single ‘Silver Ray’ accompanied by a stunning video – shot by Corey Millard on a secret garden rooftop in St. Kilda, Victoria – edited and directed by the band themselves,

Recorded and mixed by James Seymour (Feelds), the stripped back version shines a light on the raw, emotive, yet compelling vocals of charismatic front man Michael Oechsle, paired aptly with subtle acoustic guitar and keys.

Frontman Michael Oechsle describes the inspiration behind the clip:

“Silver Ray was written on guitar, and we really felt this was a nice way to strip it back and show the underlying song minus all the bells and whistles. It’s actually quite a deep, dark song thematically- so the stripped back acoustic version lets the song take on a whole other life I think”.

Halcyon Drive recently launched ‘Silver Ray’ to enthusiastic crowds at The Workers Club, Melbourne, The Hills Are Alive Festival and Rare Finds, Brisbane. The band will continue on performances in April with headlining shows in Wollongong, Melbourne and Sydney as part of the Rare Finds indie club night tour circuit.
