As winter turns to spring, Australian indie pop artist Hannah Stow unveils her latest creation ‘Sunflowers’ with its accompanying music video. Known for her unique take on pop music, Hannah Stow infuses her tracks with raw emotion, a vibrant pallet of instrumentation and a distinctive Australian flavour.
Hannah Stow debuted in 2020 when she stepped out of her comfort zone and released the ‘Fast Cars Mash Up’ cover with Callaa, which garnered viral attention. Since, she has released a handful of singles and mash-ups which have amounted to over 3 million plays on streaming platforms, play on Triple J, community radio and more. This success served as the catalyst for her venture into original music, catching the eye of Teamwrk Records, who have been her musical home since.
‘Sunflowers’ is the latest addition to Hannah’s blossoming discography. The track captures the delicate moment in a relationship just before someone utters the words “I love you”. It delves into the feeling of not being fully known by your partner and the hesitation to express profound emotions due to perceived unfamiliarity.

Describing the inspiration behind ‘Sunflowers’, Hannah Stow shares, “My girlfriend said she loved me after 3 weeks of dating and I was trying to prove to her that what she felt was lust and not love. I said, ‘You know nothing about me,’ and she said, ‘I know your favourite colour is red, you didn’t walk until you were two because everyone kept picking you up, and I don’t know if they’re your favourite – but I know for sure you like Sunflowers’. The moment she said that I knew it would make a catchy song.
So, ‘Sunflowers’ discusses the point in a relationship right after someone says ‘I love you’ where you’re feeling like they don’t know you well enough to express those emotions. It unpacks the moment you’re being proven wrong as they highlight facts about you which you thought they never listened to.”
Perfectly capturing the essence of falling in love, the track combines a cool and calm demeanour with bursts of colourful energy, like the titular sunflowers in full bloom. Hannah’s laid-back and almost spoken vocal delivery brings out the heartfelt and inspiring lyricism as she is backed by a palette of pulsing bass, slow-releasing synth stabs, and a relaxed beat. Radiating optimism and tenderness, there are gorgeous moments of contrasting acoustic guitar providing a fitting, intimate-like feel.
As ‘Sunflowers’ bloom, Hannah Stow’s latest single and music video paints an intricate picture of love and connection. To remain updated, connect with Hannah Stow through her official website and social media channels.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
