“Harvey Sutherland is responsible for some of the catchiest instrumentals around.” – The FADER

“always a good day when the local synthesizer guru drops new music” – Simon Winkler, RRR Melbourne

Melbourne producer Harvey Sutherland returns for 2025 with a second single in his club series. This time, it’s an understated tech house roller called “Nobody Like U”, out now via his Clarity Recordings imprint.
The new song follows “Hummingbird” – released late last year to buzzing acclaim and play across BBC 6 Music, KCRW and a slew of Australian community stations – which became a staple of local and international DJ sets. “Nobody Like U” carries on this theme and showcases Harvey’s penchant for minimal club music, refined for modern dancefloors.
On “Nobody Like U”, Harvey says: “I’ve really enjoyed the process of making some of these new tracks. This one came about really quickly late at night in the studio, with just a chopped up conga sample and some slowly melting piano chords. It’s quite uptempo for me, but it still feels really luxurious and groovy. The kind of record that suits a dark room, low ceilings and a deep and precise soundsystem – it should give you a little brain-massage in the club.”
In addition to his new club tracks, Harvey Sutherland has kept busy in the studio, contributing a remix for Tom Noble’s House Of Spirits gospel project (Razor ‘N’ Tape, NYC). It was backed up by a dubby version of “Replacements” from LA funk royalty Chromeo, featuring vocals from La Roux. They follow other successful Harvey Sutherland reworks for Disclosure, Tycho, Khruangbin, Surprise Chef, The Lazy Eyes, Genesis Owusu and his contribution to the anniversary reissue of “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” by Spiller. Next up, Harvey will be touching down at Brisbane’s Felons Barrel Hall on Friday 24 January for a b2b set with CC:Disco. On Thursday 30 January, he’ll head to Sydney for a performance at the Nice Drops Systems Sound Launch Party at Theeca, Darlinghurst. Entry is free, RVSP here.

Online buzz for Harvey is growing, with his popular studio “dub session” reels garnering hundreds of thousands of plays as fans rediscover Sutherland’s distinct aesthetic.
Harvey also debuted a brand new live show at Strawberry Fields Festival in November, teasing new music to a Saturday night crowd on the Grove Stage, alongside bandmate Megan “Kuzco” Christensen. The performance featured a bespoke light show created in conjunction with Colourblind Production.
The new music follows significant touring for Harvey, who made his US debut last year with a string of headline shows with his live band, plus appearances at Roskilde in Denmark and Gop Tun Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They also performed at a three-night residency opening for pop star Carly Rae Jepsen at the Bellwether Theatre in Los Angeles. He has recently been showcasing new music including “Hummingbird” on some choice Australian dates, headlining the inaugural Bloomfield Festival in NSW and performing at Darwin Festival.
Harvey Sutherland’s debut album Boy has seen widespread acclaim since its release in 2022. The album was nominated for two ARIA Awards (Best Electronic/Dance Release and the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Award), won the Music Victoria Award for Best Electronic Work and was nominated for the Australian Music Prize. The record received widespread radio support, being picked up as Album of the Week at Double J, RRR, PBS, 2SER and SYN FM, was featured in NPR’s ‘Favorite Albums of 2022 (So Far)’ list, and received strong support at BBC 6 Music (Tom Ravenscroft, Lauren Laverne, Don Letts), BBC Radio 1, KCRW and KEXP. The album’s celebrated remix package included modern club reworks and dubs from DJ Plead, Martyn Bootyspoon, I.JORDAN, Vanessa Worm, Esa and Adrian Sherwood.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
