Adelaide’s bestest HEAPS GOOD FRIENDS are hitting the road for their first ever national tour this March and April (yes, you too Perth!) and they are just stoked to announce the list of good mates who will be joining them. Heaps Good Friends are touring in support of their forthcoming debut EP Hug Me which features the widely loved singles ‘I Could Eat a Full Packet of Yo Yo’s’, ‘Let’s Hug Longer’ and ‘Olympic Sneakers’, and is due out on March 2 through the band’s own label, distributed by Kobalt/AWAL.
Tickets to the Hug Me EP Tour are on sale now from heapsgoodfriends.com.
We are pleased to share the support acts joining Heaps Good Friends across city and state (insert drum roll here): In Melbourne, Slowcoaching and Hannah Blackburn will kick off the night, with Feels Club and The Gruvs supporting in Brisbane. Opening in Wollongong is Francos and Gosh, and in Newcastle, local heroes She’s My You and Milky Thred will join them. Supporting in Sydney are Froyo andFlorian, LEO and Neon Tetra are hitting it off in Adelaide, and rounding out the stellar openers are Kopano and ABACAXUVA joining the show in Perth.

Taking out the awards for ‘Best New Artist’ at the South Australian Music Awards last year, Heaps Good Friends’ single ‘Let’s Hug Longer’ was the 9th most played track on triple j in 2017 and truly put this bubbly trio on the map. They released the hilarious video for ‘I Could Eat a Full Packet of Yo Yos’, which was directed by them together with Aaron Schuppan and filmed in Adelaide’s beautiful heritage-listed Capri Cinema, late last year to a roaring applause, including from The Music who said simply that the band “hit it out of the park”. Sophomore single and fan favourite ‘Olympic Sneakers’ was their second single to be added to triple j’s high rotation with AAA Backstage singing its praises saying, “it pretty much has “Warning: Foot Tapping Imminent” stamped on the box.”
Heaps Good Friends – Emma Fradd (vocals / guitar), Nick O’Connor (bass / vocals) and Dan Steinert (drums) – are the trio known for delivering lyrically playful, synth pop treats. Their upcoming debut Hug Me EP is a pocketful of fireworks, a six-track explosion of synths, catchy hooks and undeniable beats. We can’t wait to see what happens when this unstoppable trio hit the road.
