Brisbane’s Hidden Lanes Festival is full steam ahead with only two weeks to go until a day long celebration of everything Fortitude Valley has to offer, on Saturday 14th August.
With the recent COVID restrictions in NSW, the team behind Hidden Lanes are still keeping it ‘Live and Local’ with some of Brisbane’s best up and coming acts. The team are excited to announce punk outfit, VOIID have jumped on board as joint headliner. The four piece have been a rising act play has previously seen them playing Groovin’ The Moo, GizzFest, BIGSOUND, as well as sharing stages with Grinspoon, Amyl and the Sniffers and DZ Deathrays, including their own flurry of successful shows around Australia, making a name for themselves with their raw, unruly and sporadic performances.
Joining VOIID will be the explosive on-stage energy of six piece band, Fat Picnic. Their unique sound emphasises soulful pop sensibilities, pumping ska sequences and raw hard hitting dub-reggae earthquakes. Bringing alternative rock to the stage will also be Rich Uncle, and delicate selection of indie, folk and dream-pop from Oh Bailey, Lilly Sage and Evie. Don’t forget you can catch a killer DJ set as well, with local DJs Jamie Forson and Romiindahouse joining the lineup, boasting some of the best house and techno to get you dancing.
Weave and bop through the lanes, hit a few new pitstops along the way, and maybe pick up a new knick-knack from one of the beautiful market stalls.
It’s time to come out, enjoy the Brisbane weather and support your local businesses and independent artists! With plenty happening, and so much to discover, you won’t want to miss out.
