Following on from day one video highlights of the giant Tones and I sing-a-long, Hayden James’ 16 piece backing choir and Winston Surfshirt’s slinky ‘Be About You’, we’re back with Splendour highlights from day two.
The crowd for Ruby Fields saw just as many people piled up outside the GW McLennan tent as in, with huge sing-a-longs for songs like ‘Dinosaurs’ and ‘P Plates’, but it was Ruby’s epic cover of Britney Spears ‘Toxic’ that took the tent to a whole other euphoric level.
Backed by the six-piece band who joined him for Like A Version, Allday lead the Mix Up tent through his plethora of hits with the help of a few friends. Mallrat jumped up for ‘UFO’, Nyne hit the ‘Switch’, Asta delivered ‘Dynamite’, and then, the moment which garnered some of the loudest screams of the festival, Allday and The Veronicas teamed up for a remix of their Aussie pop classic, ‘Untouched’.
If you needed more evidence, the tide really is turning on The Shoey, with FIDLAR, Trophy Eyes and Dear Seattle all refusing to bow to ‘Aussie peer pressure’.
Stay tuned today as we close out the third and final day of Splendour with heaps more interviews, music news and live sets, as well as video highlights of Ziggy Alberts’ much anticipated set.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
