Rolling Loud, the biggest hip-hop festival in the world, has sold out its first Australian event in less than 38 minutes after a huge 30,000 people registered following the festival announcement on Monday. The special one-day hip hop extravaganza will take over Sydney Showgrounds, Olympic Park on Sunday 27 January.
Since launching in Miami in 2015, Rolling Loud has expanded across the US and featured some of the biggest names in the game. Rolling Loud Australia will be the very first time the show has taken place outside of the Northern Hemisphere. Thursday’s pre-sale sold out in 20 minutes, while today’s general-sale sold out in less than 18 minutes.
Headlined by one of the biggest names in hip-hop, Future leads the first wave of the line-up with Lil Uzi Vert, Tyga, Smokepurpp, Manu Crook$ and a first for Aussie audiences, Playboi Carti, making up the rest of the initial bill. The full line-up featuring more ground-breaking names will be announced later this month.
Founders Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif said: “We can’t begin to express how excited we are; it has been a dream of ours to take Rolling Loud around the world for the past five years. The response from hip hop fans Down Under is amazing. 20,000 tickets sold out in 24 hours. Wow. Rolling Loud, forever”.
Rolling Loud partnered with local production and events company, HSU Events. Since starting as a Sydney club night in 2009, HSU Events has stepped up to produce the highest quality festivals with international line-up playing to thousands of ravers from around the country. HSU will bring their impressive world-class production to the Rolling Loud event, creating a truly unique and not to be missed hip hop experience. Rolling Loud Australia follows HSU’s upcoming Knockout event, which sold out in just four days.

About Rolling Loud
Rolling Loud Festival is rap’s premier music festival experience. The festival is the brainchild of co-founders Tariq Cherif and Matthew Zingler, who began organizing shows in South Florida in 2010. The two childhood friends launched Rolling Loud in 2015 as a one-day festival for 6,500 attendees. The festival has rapidly grown with the launch of two 2-day installations which took place in the Bay Area and Los Angeles starting in 2017. The Miami chapter has grown into a 3-day event drawing over 180,000 fans.
Their recently announced Sydney, Australia show sold out in 38 minutes with 20,000 fans buying tickets for the 1-day event, which will take place on 27 January 2019. Their five-year Miami-based anniversary festival will take place at the Hard Rock Stadium on 10-12 May 2019.
