After taking out #54 in triple j’s Hottest 100 last week with ‘Homely Feeling’, and selling out rooms for their upcoming national tour, Hockey Dad have announced they’ll be traversing record stores along the east coast in a custom-painted van to launch second record Blend Inn. The news comes alongside a video for ‘I Wanna Be Everybody’, the latest taste of the album, out next Friday, February 9 on Farmer & The Owl via Inertia Music.

The free, all-ages appearances will see Billy Fleming and Zach Stephenson catch up with mates old and new to play a few songs and sign album copies at each location, an exclusive chance to catch the two before they head out on their massive, 14 date national tour, of which limited tickets for extra shows remain. With supports Dear Seattle and Boat Show in tow, the tour will see Hockey Dad play to full houses in venues including twice at The Metro Theatre in Sydney, a staggering four shows in Melbourne’s The Corner Hotel and four at The Woolly Mammoth in Brisbane, plus two shows in each The Gov, Adelaide and Badlands, Perth.

Emerging as the infectious and surprisingly vulnerable jam that Summer was missing, ‘I Wanna Be Everybody’ now has a video clip to match, directed and shot  by good friend and fellow South Coast native Tom Healy between Hockey Dad’s time touring in the US, and their coastal hometown of Windang, NSW. On the track, Hockey Dad navigate themes of social anxiety amid the charged riffs, ever-confident vocals and punk-styled drums for which they’ve become synonymous, and are set to have band rooms across the country united in a chorus of “I wanna be everybody, everybody / I just can’t be everybody, everybody”.

The Record Store Road Trip kicks off on album release day, next Friday February 9, with a first stop at Redeye Records in Sydney. Blend Inn is available for pre-order now on all formats including limited edition coloured vinyl. Last remaining tickets for the extra album tour are on sale now.
