Praise for ‘BRAIN CANDY’
“With ‘Brain Candy’, all bets are off: Broader, more colourful and with a lot more to say, it shows Hockey Dad are ready to take on the world” – NME ****
“For [Hockey Dad’s] follow-up they’ve refined their sound a touch, without losing any impact” – Herald Sun
“Hockey Dad may have set out to offer the world some escapist brain candy, but they have subsequently created a genuinely rich album. Brain Candy is a pleasing addition to their discography and sure to excite fans.” – HI FI Way
“Entrenched in a rich lineage of savage Australian rock thrashers and hopeful burnouts, Hockey Dad’s immediate ascent has been marked with track after track of riffage-backed ennui and Brain Candy only exhibits it at its absolute best.” – Stack Mag

Hockey Dad’s 3rd studio album ‘Brain Candy’ has debuted at #2 on the official ARIA Album Chart. The impressive result comes after a whirl-wind year that no matter what was thrown at the band they kept pushing forward to ensure ‘Brain Candy’s’ release was as fun and exciting as the album itself.
From torrential rain that meant the band were forced to postpone their all but sold out ‘Alive At The Drive-In’ shows, Hockey Dad, not one’s to shy away from a challenge, showed that neither a natural disaster nor global pandemic could hold them back and the boys soon surprised fans with a one of a kind ‘Live-Scream’ at Wollongong’s Regent Theatre, which saw 1.5 K punters tuning in from all around the world to join the band as they played their new album in full to a crowd of fully kitted out zombies. Having only been online for less than a week the ‘Alive At The Theatre – Live Scream’ has already clocked up over 300K views.

To loading themselves into the official Brain Candy courier van and making their way up the east coast of NSW across 3 days, delivering a select bunch of Hockey Dad fans their special ‘Breakfast Cereal’ edition of ‘Brain Candy’, the band were on a mission to pay back the support of their fans and make sure they received their copy as soon as possible.
To cap off what has been a truly huge week which also included ‘Brain Candy’ being the Feature Album on triple j, Hockey Dad appeared on ABC TV’s The Sound last night for a home filmed version of ‘I Missed Out’. Zach even stepped in as a guest vocalist for a tribute to the Easybeats on a version of the classic ‘Friday On My Mind’.
With the album out, Hockey Dad shows no signs of slowing down having announced their updated run of ‘Brain Candy’ 2021 dates due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, alongside the new ‘Alive At The Drive-In’ dates slated for October 9th and 10th.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
