“…the track shines with an infectiously energetic beat, driven by prickly, strummed guitars and an understated synth line that feel restrained in the verses, but roar to life in the chorus.” – NME
“…gave us an immediate ‘this is something special’ reaction that we haven’t felt in a little while now.” – PILERATS
“Just hear how Hope breathlessly paces that second verse, powers down a little, then blasts into one of her most addictive choruses yet, anchored by some neat rhythmic punctuation.” – TRIPLE J
“Brisbane’s Hope D has spent the last two years quietly becoming one of the most exciting musicians in Australia.” – MUSIC JUNKEE

Following on from the success of her debut EP Cash Only, and her previous single ‘Happy Hangover’, Brisbane based singer/songwriter Hope D has revealed her next track, the emotive, ‘Hate Goodbyes’. She’s also excited to announce her biggest headline tour dates yet for April and May, supported by Noah Dillon and Platonic Sex. Tickets and more info available HERE.
“I wrote ‘Hate Goodbyes’ in 2018 about a relationship that was constantly ending and starting again. It was difficult to come to the realisation that we shouldn’t be together and just call it off completely, but the thought of that final goodbye was so unbearable that we continuously kept the relationship going after it would end. I would come to terms with the reality that we were only together because it was painful not to be, which caused spirals, emotional shut offs, and yet again another breakup.” Hope D explains of the track.
The signature pop-rock sound she has previously honed shines super bright on this track with its infectiously penned hook immediately infiltrating your ears. Teasing the song on her previous tour, it’s ready to have it’s on spotlighted moment on her forthcoming Australian tour in April and May. Kicking off in Sydney on Friday 8 April the 7 date run see’s her playing some of her biggest headline shows yet.
Introducing herself in late 2019 with her debut single ‘Swim’, Hope D captivated audiences with her eclectic capability to create purposeful, confessional and captivating music. This release led her to taking home the inaugural Queensland Music Awards Emerging Artist Of The Year, performances at BIGSOUND 2019, Splendour In The Grass, Laneway Festival and King Street Crawl, as well as sold-out headline shows in her hometown Brisbane.
The beginning of 2020 saw her release an aptly titled second single named ‘Second’ and then follow up tracks ‘Common Denominator’ and ‘Miscommunicate’, once again wowing and surprising fans by her change in sound, but maintaining the same inviting charm and razor-sharp wit through her authentically honest, raw and relatable songs. Hope ended 2020 by winning the prestigious Carol Lloyd Award, an initiative aimed to address the gender imbalance in music and support an emerging female-identifying or non-binary singer-songwriter.
Hope’s single ‘Second’ landed #69 in triple j’s Hottest 100 for 2020. Off the back of her debut EP Cash Only Hope took off on a sold out national tour playing 19 shows in 3 weeks of March 2021. The single ‘Addict’ received a full addition to triple j and landed the #195 spot in triple j’s Hottest 200 for 2021. Hope was widely praised for her cover of Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’ she performed for Like A Version, last year. She played to almost sold out crowds during her ‘Happy Hangover’ tour dates in her home state of QLD late last year, with the single added to full rotation on triple j and widely praised by the likes of NME, Tone Deaf, Music Feeds, Purple Sneakers and Pilerats.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
