Fresh from winning triple J Unearthed’s comp to support The Rubens on their recent national tour, Sydney singer songwriter Iluka returns with Closer To You, the brand new single featuring a compelling new twist to her sound.
Produced by The Preatures’ Jack Moffit and reinforced by her amazing band, Closer To You, which is released on March 15th, suggests an edgier path to be explored by the talented young artist. While all the hallmarks of her classic pop style and unmistakable voice remain, this new single suggests Iluka’s song craft has matured and reflects her immersion into a world of innovative sounds, new experiences and fresh ideas.
Her most recent Ritual EP saw Rolling Stone premiering the lead single “Sympathy”, with its accompanying video also winning 2018’s Clipped Music Festival. Both “Sympathy” and the follow up single “Ritual” receiving national airplay.
A true traveller at heart, Iluka has forged an identity collected via experiences in far flung climes, a highlight that adds depth to her work as a song writer. After standout festival and guest spots with the likes of Alex Lahey and Lime Cordiale on their ‘Dirt Cheap’ tour, the stage is now set for the next phase of Iluka’s trajectory.
To celebrate the release of Closer To You, Iluka and her full band will play a special show in Sydney on March 21 as a part of Cobra Club’s free ‘Rooftop Series’ on the rooftop of the King Cross Hotel, which will also serve to preview some of the exciting new material she has been working on in the studio.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
