Praise for Beau Lightning

“Beau Lightning’s debut tune ‘Last Night’ definitely carries all the elements you want to be heard in a rock tune; huge vocals, wailing guitars, and a shitload of swagger.”  – Life Without Andy

A bit like a dust-covered Royal Blood and Wolfmother tripping on peyote in remote South Australia.” – Dave Ruby Howe, triple j

With the new single, Beau Lightning has crafted an rousing piece of neo-psychedelic excellence that bathes in a hazy holographic sunset. By channelling the vibes of early 2005’s Wolfmother, as well as lending his own unique and distinctive Lightning flair, Beauhas created a whole sonic world within the track, the lyrics of which paint a vivid warning – to be wary and not end up being bitten twice.

Don’t Get Bit is somewhat a fantasy about unrealistically rekindling a relationship you know was unhealthy and hurt you in the past, but still having the desire to see where it could go,” says Lightning. “The song almost has a devil and angel sitting on each shoulder, the angel reminding you of all the ways you were hurt and the devil telling you, ‘remakes are never the same, so let’s just see how it’s going to go’.”

Beau, who previously released songs under his given name ELI, is inspired by California daze, the desert surrounding the city of sin, cowboys, and the moon landing. All of these things make up the alter ego that is Beau Lightning.

His debut single “Last Night” was written and recorded entirely on his own after being given the opportunity to live in a recording studio that a close friend and old work colleague built in his backyard. “Last Night” was the result of tinkering and experimentation, a first attempt at using real studio equipment. With some production guidance and mixing from John Broadbent, the song came into being. His music gives nods to bands like Queens Of The Stone Age, Arctic Monkeys and Wolfmother.

“Don’t Get Bit” is available for purchase and stream on all platforms now!
