New Australian label Hello Gardener is thrilled to introduce its first signing, female 2-piece Betty Taylor who today release their dreamy debut single and music video, Stallin’.

Hailing from Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Betty Taylor is duo Sophie Patrick and Kayla Smart (AKA Dorah Jacson). Patrick’s indie hooks and honest poignant lyrics complimented by Smart’s harmonies and wistful guitar riffs, strikes a perfect balance of power and charm.

Live shows see the two-piece turn into four, with bandmate besties Claire Chittick on bass and Katie Ishaque on drums, to truly captivate the audience. Despite only releasing their first single today, Betty Taylor has already played alongside the likes of Hayley Mary, Tia Gostelow, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever and Holy Holy.

Their debut single Stallin’ is a punchy and driven track filled with a soothing guitar chime, and an upbeat kick drum. The song takes you along for the journey, filling the listener with the giddiness and excitement that happens when you fall for someone but are unsure whether you can let your guard down.

Behind the track is a dynamite team of Australian music legends – the drums are tracked by Holy Holy’s Ryan Strathie, produced and engineered by Aidan Hogg (who has worked with the likes of G Flip, Jaguar Jonze and Eves Karydas), and mixed by Sean Cook (who has worked with Big Scary, Egoism and Kimbra). It is hard to ignore the song’s exciting musicality, from top to bottom.

Betty Taylor’s debut tune is accompanied by their first music video. The clip exhibits the thrill and elation of having a crush as well as the unfiltered and hilarious manifestation of your imagination.
