Cuco, the moniker of 19 year-old California based self-produced Chicano artist Omar Banos, returns today with latest EP Chiquito. The release precedes a series of festival dates including Governors Ball, FYF Fest, Lollapalooza, Osheaga and Outside Lands and follows his debut festival performance at Coachella. Latest track ‘Lucy’ ft. J-kwe$t landed Zane Lowe’s ‘World Record’ this week, prior to this single ‘CR-V’ peaked at #7 on the Spotify US Viral chart and #10 globally.

The project was fully written, produced, mixed and mastered in his bedroom in Hawthorne, CA where he still lives with his family and practices with his bandmates in between tours. The young artist found his roots when he was 8 years old learning guitar before moving on to master bass, keys, drums, trumpet, french horn, and mellophone all before the age of 15. After teaching himself Ableton at 16, Cuco was eager to start independently releasing his own music once finishing high school.

From his inception playing his first shows in backyards, Cuco played his first ever venue in March this year and has continued to sell out every show since. Featured in Fader’s ‘10 Artists We Love this Spring’, the young artist has been hailed as an ‘Artist on the Rise’ by YouTube and was included in Pandora’s 2018 ‘Artists To Watch’. He has since supported the likes of Kali Uchis and performed at this year’s SXSW.
