Nestled alongside the banks of the glorious Murray River, the picturesque township of Tocumwal, NSW, is set to come alive this June 18 & 19 thanks to Good Times Festival! This Winter Solstice, welcome a new event for the whole family that celebrates live music, art, food, workshops and local delights of this stunning village.
Good Times is brought to you by the team behind Strawberry Fields (which sold out in 60 seconds after the announce of their new 2021 date). The team are thrilled to be supporting their home town of Tocumwal by drawing visitors from Melbourne, regional VIC and NSW to support the regional tourism recovery and bolster local businesses after a challenging year in 2020.
“Council is excited to welcome back entertainment on this level to the Berrigan Shire. Strawberry Fields have a long association with Tocumwal and for them to bring Good Times event for a 2-year period shows the commitment to our area. We look forward to the Good Times Festival and stimulating further economic activity within the Shire,” Cr Matthew Hannan said.

Good Times has been made possible thanks to the Restart Investment to Sustain and Expand (RISE) Fund – an Australian Government initiative. All performances will be either free or donation based, with proceeds going to the local community groups. So come along, give what you can, and have an old fashion GOOD TIME!
Friday night lights up thanks to a takeover of the historic Terminus Hotel, with performances from neo soul collective IZY, cigar box guitar, resonator, lap steel and six-string guitar singer songwriter Anna Scionti and swamp, Voodoo blues trio, Southbound Snake Charmers.
On Saturday the closure of Deniliquin St will transform Tocumwal’s main drag. Discover a prohibition era Speakeasy Bar hidden in a heritage listed building, have your palm read by a fortune teller in the Antiques Store, challenge yourself to a game of “relatively serious” pub backgammon, or simply enjoy the stellar live music program.

The Tocumwal Memorial Hall will feature multiple ticketed shows, including Blues royalty Josh Teskey and Ash Grunwald bring their new album Push the Blues Away, with award-winning Yorta Yorta singer/songwriter Benny Walker and his soul-driven guitar songs. Melbourne legends Cash Savage and The Last Drinks bring their raw, brooding powerhouse version of alt-country and Melbourne’s Sagamore delivering their blue eyed soul and afro funk laden grooves. Acclaimed soul sensation Emma Donovan will take the stage with Melbourne rhythm combo The Putbacks, as well as Coburg’s cinematic soul journeymen Surprise Chef, and hypnotic vocalist and instrumentalist Noongar artist BUMPY.
Pop-up shows will blossom all over Deniliquin St, featuring artists like Danika Smith, Pete Denahy, Matt Katsis, George Kamikawa, Heidi Moncrieff, Shane & Ellie and Mohamed Camara.
Local school students will be putting their creative skills to work building lanterns for the Riverina Lantern Parade in a series of workshops facilitated by artist Lana Scoville. Lana creates sustainable art experiences that transform spaces into unique architectural monuments, her work has featured at numerous festivals including SWELL, Strawberry Fields and Rainbow Serpent. The parade will light up the main street on Saturday evening in celebration of the Winter Solstice.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
