Introducing
LIVE AT THE COUNTS
A new series of
Live Broadcast Events
FEATURING THE MELTDOWN, MAMA ALTO, MEOW MEOW & MORE
.
.
Introducing ‘Live At The Counts’, a new series of live broadcasts, featuring some of Australia’s finest artists at Monash University Performing Arts Centres. Every Wednesday night at The Count’s, live audiences will be treated to intimate shows, culminating in an interactive Q&A, hosted by series producer Chelsea Wilson.
In November multi-award-winning Fem Belling plays her favourite jazz standards; French-inspired ensemble La Nuit Blanche presents their take on chanson; the fierce, femme and fabulous, jazz and cabaret artiste Mama Alto returns and much loved Hammond Organ Trio Cookin’ On 3 Burners bring the soul party southside.
We also welcome the hilarious and multi-talented Jude Perl to The Count’s to perform her award-winning musical comedy special, ‘I Have A Face’. And on Friday 10 December, post-modern diva & cabaret performer Meow Meow will take to the stage in conversation with legendary pianist, composer and thinker, Paul Grabowsky. These long-standing colleagues will explore Meow Meow’s international career across opera, cabaret, theatre and contemporary music. Meow Meow explains, ‘’YOU MAY NOT BE TOUCHED BUT YOU WILL BE MOVED“.

In December catch vocal jazz icon, Julie O’Hara. Plus Melbourne’s purveyors of the finest country soul, The Meltdown, pay homage to the great Ray Charles.
On the return of The Count’s Professor Paul Grabowsky, AO Executive Director of Monash University Performing Arts Centres tells, “I spent the greater part of my first two decades a few minutes’ drive from Monash Clayton campus. In the intervening decades, I have had the opportunity to play in music venues great and small around the world. Having a beautiful music venue so close to where my musical journey started means a lot to me; to bring the best of our rich musical scene to the many communities surrounding Monash Clayton – and in such a beautiful venue – is a dream come true.”
The Count’s are thrilled to welcome back audiences to the club from November 10. To ensure your COVID-19 safety, only a limited number of tickets will be available for purchase, so get in quick! Enjoy free parking and delicious beverages via Script’s bar service. For those who can’t join the party in person, tune in via Monash University social channels to catch a ‘teaser’ 40-minute stream.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
