Melbourne-based artist MIZUKI makes colourful, raw and soulful electro indie pop that gets stuck in your head and heart. Today MIZUKI arrives with her addictive new single ‘How Far We’ve Come’.

“‘How Far We’ve Come’ is mostly about growth and about recognising how far you’ve come on your journey. It’s my reflection on the moments that have passed by and of the phases and different stages of life,” MIZUKI says of the track.
Like many 20-somethings, MIZUKI has at times struggled to find a balance between fitting into the expected mould and diving head first into deep self-exploration. By choosing the latter and following her heart, MIZUKI has taken herself on a journey of self-discovery, opening doors along the way, and immersing herself in a variety of experiences.
Originally posting covers and demos to her Instagram account, MIZUKI’s talent soon piqued the interest of her now management team from ON3. With her music on the backburner, she decided on a move to Melbourne to study fashion design. Following the move though, and as fate would have it, MIZUKI soon crossed paths with the ON3 team – this time physically on the street in Brunswick. Following the chance meeting, her focus soon shifted to developing her music once more.
“For me, I’ve always loved music but it didn’t seem like something that I could do. I didn’t have a lot of confidence and I didn’t know where to start,” MIZUKI says. “After meeting the ON3 guys, it felt natural and exciting because the possibility and opportunity to do something I’ve always loved to do was right there in front of me!”
Born and raised in Sydney to Japanese parents, MIZUKI finds influence and inspiration in her Australian and Japanese culture – both of which she has immersed herself in to discover her identity and unique sound. MIZUKI has also practiced the Brazilian martial art and dance form of Capoeira. Her love of expression through sound and movement has had a major influence on the universal, yet personal sound she’s setting as her very own.
‘How Far We’ve Come’ follows MIZUKI’s debut single ‘Over The Sun’.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
