Hello! Jambo! nǐ hǎo! xin chào! Yassou! Hæ! Selam! Malō! ISOL-AID #28 is here!
Have you been cracking on with some Duolingo in the hopes of a future trip across the globe? Until then you can let your mind do the travelling and your sound and vision be your captain as we head out on the destination unknown of sheer musical magic baby!
This first portion of this week’s tasty edition of the fest is brought to you by the CITY OF WARRNAMBOOL.
On the AMPLIFY WARRNAMBOOL lineup Lauren Edney, Events & Promotion Services Manager had this to say: “We are thrilled to partner with isol-aid! Festival and shine a light on the brilliant musical talent we have here in the South West. The event is such a positive way to connect when we are disconnected. To be able to support our musicians is hugely important when they have lost their ability to perform live in the normal sense. The Amplify Warrnambool line-up is a showcase of original songwriters and performers that reflect the original sounds of our coastal city.”
To kick things off, Warrnambool warmly welcomes us with TOM RICHARDSON, a graceful storyteller who favours intricate guitar and back roads less travelled. After Tom, LEE MORGAN, a former gun for hire for Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Archie Roach and others, who is now fronting his own sound with solid country rockin’ and stories of culture, love lost and found. Up next KINNON’s rustic and emotive sounds blend folk revival and alternative are sure to hit home with music that respects the complexity of life.
19 year old wunderkid FLYNN GURRY brings the South West roots to Isol-Aid 28, and rounding out the Warrnambool showcase is fellow youngster COOPER LOWER, 21 years old and already managing to capture nomadic sounds of soaring vocals, sombre lows and lush melodies in between.

If all that didn’t tickle your fancy, Melbourne based independent label MILK! RECORDS will be bringing the party with their finely curated charcuterie of talent. Kicking it off will be VAGABON (USA) – Cameroon-born and now Brooklyn-based, Vagabon’s cinematic majesty will arrest you, her music supersedes any attempt of singular definition.
If you were a regular gig-goer in Melbourne, chances are pretty high you would’ve seen a delightful show from Milk! Records artist HACHIKU – the project of bedroom producer Anika Ostendorf. Dream pop with an avant garde twist, Hachiku will be celebrating the release of single ‘I’ll Probably Be Asleep’ lifted from her forthcoming album of the same title.
KEE’AHN is a 22 year old Kuku Yalanji, Jirrbal and Badu Island songbird who honors her ancestors through vulnerable soulful melodies of identity, heartbreak, and healing. JESSIE L. WARREN has been performing both solo and in bands (including fellow performer Hachiku) for a number of years around Melbourne. Her solo music inhabits ambient worlds with qualities of seeming opposition – light and dark, fragile and strong but all with its head above the musical water. JACK SIREN is the singer, synth player and guitarist in Melbourne band DARK WATER, 80s inspired synth pop driven by dark bass lines. Their solo performance promises to be just as exciting and we cannot wait.
Rounding out Milk! Records’ selection and ISOL-AID #28 will be EVELYN IDA MORRIS, (FKA Pikelet), a gifted musician and producer, celebrated for their dexterity across multiple instruments and complex songwriting.
So put away your travel book for a day and step across cities and sounds with this week’s ISOL-AID.

We love that our festival is free to watch, but we do ask online attendees to help support the artists if you can. 100% of whatever you donate will go directly to the Isol-Aid artists and their teams.
As you know, the loss of touring and live performance income has caused financial strain and even strife for many in our music community. Throwing in even what you’d normally pay for a beer or two at the show will make a huge difference to these acts. And we’ll be eternally grateful, too!
You can look good and feel amazing. Artist donations, merch and feel good vibes from isolaidfestival.com
If music be the language of love, play on,
Love, Team Isol-Aid x

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
