So here we are at 30 blinks of an eye and it’s 30 weeks! It’s been a huge ride thus far and a months-long journey for everyone of reflection and rejuvenation.
Though these times have been (ha ha yep were saying it…) unprecedented, one facet of the COVID-19 crisis has been never changing – the strength, bravery and selflessness of our frontline workers. We figured it was high time we paid homage to the folks that have really given everything. The intersection of frontline workers and musicians goes to show that these people are not only busy saving lives and kickin medical ass, there’s also some absolutely SUPER-human workers who are also very talented musicians. Sydney musician GORDI presents this week’s lineup of mega talent and we couldn’t be more excited if we tried.
Kicking off the welcome will be GORDI and DR EMMA O’BRIEN AO followed by a performance from Emma. Emma O’Brien is internationally recognised and renowned as an innovator in music wellbeing; she is a singer, performer, music therapist, composer, researcher and entrepreneur. Musician DAVE EVANS will follow. Dave is a member of the energetic floor-packing band The Band Who Knew Too Much. In addition to rockin’ out on the stage, Dave rocks peoples worlds with musical therapy at the Royal Melbourne Hospital particularly in the oncology, palliative and aged care wards. CORPUS MEDICORUM is a Melbourne-based orchestra of doctors, medical students and health professionals founded in 2002 by The Royal Melbourne Hospital. If devoting their life to public health wasn’t enough, their exceptional performances keep these players busy and all of their profits as performers are donated back to the RMH to fund Lung Cancer research.
Melbourne based JADE EMPRESS sings, writes, performs & explores her life. With musings on inspiring, delicious and curious adventures, Jade’s performance will be one to watch. KERRYN FIELDS is an NZ-born storyteller who woos with rich texture, joyful humour and a palette of harmonies.

Speaking with GORDI will be the shredder himself from punk legends Radio Birdman, DENIZ TEK. When Deniz isn’t startin’ it up (yeah hup), he is a trained emergency surgeon. A remarkable dude with a remarkable history in music and life, this conversation will be a bloody good one. SUNNYSIDE is a six-piece collective of jamming journeymen but this week’s ISOL-AID sees Matt & Archie of the band taking the reigns and performing. HIP HOP HOE is a musician and DJ who has been sparking up the dancefloor for a while in Naarm, we know that this performance will get us movin’ and groovin’.
LINO is a born entertainer, a musician who has been performing for over 24 years throughout the world, LINO started as a dancer in the breakdance era and has performed on a myriad of television shows throughout the ages. The party will be poppin’. From our lil island of Tassie to the big bad mainland, THE SUNDAY LEAGUE make heartfelt alt-rock that resonates from Australian 80s to American country. In solo form, James Woodberry of the band will be bringing the charm. Sleepy popster VLADIK will hypnotise with soulful sun-kissed sounds that get us swaying. Surgeon by day and guitarist by night, ALEX CAMERON performs in Bad//Dreems and we are looking forward to learning a little more about Alex’s journey. GEORGIA MAQ is an influential and important figure in recent music history in Melbourne, performing as a member of Camp Cope and a solo superstar in her own right, Georgia continues to take on the world with her empowering, thoughtful and heartfelt music.
To round out the proceedings, GORDI will be treating us to a set. GORDI – real name Sophie Payten – is a folk musician whose evocative songs have been crafted from a wide spectrum of emotion and influence. Her candour and vocal tones are at once fractured and brimming with richness. GORDI quit her job as doctor but due to the COVID-19 pandemic chose to return to her past life as a junior doctor. She felt the call to reach out and assist with her skills. We are absolutely over the moon to hear GORDI perform and listen to her speak on her experience.

Frontline workers are to be celebrated and we believe this edition of ISOL AID will hopefully open a great dialogue about these workers’ experiences and also celebrate the talented and incredible folk involved with keeping us all happy and healthy.

We love that our festival is free to watch, but we do ask online attendees to help support the artists if you can. 100% of whatever you donate will go directly to the Isol-Aid artists and their teams.
As you know, the loss of touring and live performance income has caused financial strain and even strife for many in our music community. Throwing in even what you’d normally pay for a beer or two at the show will make a huge difference to these acts. And we’ll be eternally grateful, too!
You can look good and feel amazing. Artist donations, merch and feel good vibes from isolaidfestival.com
It’s going tibia a great Saturday.
Love, Team Isol-Aid x

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
