Time to put the washing on! November 20 is AUSMUSIC T-SHIRT DAY, AKA the best day of the year, and we’re going all out. There may have been a sneaky April version but it’s 2020 and we all deserve an extra day to show our love and support for Australian musicians as well as a reason to don our favourite merch.
We’re partnering with SUPPORT ACT and AUSTRALIA COUNCIL FOR THE ARTS to present a lineup of stellar Australian artists, via livestream to audiences across Australia. It’s all about spreading the word and importantly, raising funds for the work Support Act does in helping those in need in the music industry.
The day kicks off with ROMY VAGER (RVG) channeling angst at the state of the world through roaring punk poetry that’s never been more necessary. Long time collaborators DAVE GRANEY and CLARE MOORE take over to play songs from across their awe-inspiring career, a perfect dose of tunes and stories.
A household name in the Upper Nile region of what is now South Sudan GORDON KOANG brings warmth and joy to all when he plays his signature mix of traditional Neur rhythms and original compositions in English, Arabic, and his native language, Neur.

MAHALIA BARNES’ renowned powerhouse voice will be on full display as she weaves her intoxicating mix of soul and blues. One of Australia’s most important Hip-Hop artists L-FRESH THE LION is known for his unwavering strength and honesty, allowing him to explore themes both political and personal in nature all the while being a master at getting crowds moving, even the ones watching at home.
ALEX LAHEY, Australia’s most relatable guitar slinging, indie rocker, will be there playing her energetic pop-punk anti-anthems. YIRINDA, made up of Butchulla song man Fred Leone and experimental contrabassist Samuel Pankhurst, weave together limitless improvisations that subvert Western music conventions and convey the language and stories of Butchulla country.
EMILY WURRAMARA is a proud Indigenous songwriter from Groote Eylandt, in the Northern Territory, who crafts enchanting folk-pop, sharing stories of country, family and culture sung in English and her traditional language Anindilyakwa. Iconic country singer MELINDA SCHNEIDER will be playing songs that span her celebrated 40 year recording career. Finally MEMPHIS LK rounds out the night, fusing electro pop with intimate lyricism to create hypnotic dance music that’s sure to draw you in.

Australia Council Head of Music Kirsty Rivers said: “We are so excited to join forces with Support Act and Isol-Aid. We know Australian’s love music, and live performance will be critical as we seek to bring life back to our cities, regions and economy but we can’t do this without supporting our artists and industry to get back on track when times are tough. We’d encourage music lovers across Australia to don a band t-shirt and show their support this Aus Music T-Shirt Day”

We love that our festival is free to watch, but we do ask online attendees to help support musicians and music workers if you can. 100% of whatever you donate will go directly to Support Act. Please donate directly to our fundraising page on the Ausmusic T-Shirt Day Website: HERE
As you know, the loss of touring and live performance income has caused financial strain and even strife for many in our music community. Throwing in even what you’d normally pay for a beer or two at the show will make a huge difference. And we’ll be eternally grateful, too!
You can look good and feel amazing. Donations, merch and feel good vibes from HERE and HERE.
And don’t forget to post any photos using the hashtag #ausmusictshirtday and tag @supportact, @triplej, @aria_official
Love, Team Isol-Aid x

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
