“Ivey honing in on that catchy sing-a-long choruses they’re all so good at creating… “I think you’re kinda boring”… That line just won’t get out of my head!” – Claire Mooney, triple j on “Always”

“Ivey have recently released a polished new single in “Smell Of Smoke”, one that packs an up-beat, tropical punch that doesn’t take itself too seriously, whilst also showing a maturity and honesty more seasoned artists would die for.” – Pilerats

Today, Gold Coasts’ young, alternative pop group IVEY release their new single “Always”, ahead of their second EP set for release later this year. To celebrate, the band have also announced a run of East Coast tour dates, kicking off in Wollongong, before heading to Melbourne, Gold Coast and Brisbane.

Mixed and mastered by Brisbane’s Konstantin Kersting (The Jungle Giants, Art Of Sleeping), “Always” is a constant bass groove, full of memorable lyrics and expert attention to detail, making it IVEY’s finest work to date.

IVEY describe the song as “the product of taking our time. We wanted to make sure everything sounded perfect, that each individual layer of the track was precise, and we did just that. It’s danceable, poppy, relatable and a bit of a f**k yousong, we love it.”

IVEY have also unveiled a colourful, 90’s inspired music video with the release of the track. Directed by the band’s very own Lachlan McGuffie, the clip was given it’s first look by Music Feeds on Tuesday

.

Growing from humble beginnings, IVEY began as a garage band, created by brothers Lachlan and Matthew McGuffie and their neighbour Dante Martin. The band was officially formed in April 2013 with the introduction of lead singer Millie Perks. Now, IVEY have collectively gained over 1 million Spotify plays, continue to receive a rapidly growing fanbase and extensive support from the likes of triple j, channel

[V], ABC’s RAGE and more.

Showcasing an energetic live performance and leaving audiences wanting more, the band have also shared the stage with a whirlwind of bands including British India, Ocean Alley, Montaigne and Cub Sport. Don’t miss your chance to catch IVEY live at one of their upcoming shows around the East Coast.
