Dust off your Dinosaur Jr. t-shirt; seminal slacker rock legend – and an artist who needs no introduction – J MASCIS is coming to Brunswick. Get psyched to hear cuts off the newly minted and seventh solo release, Elastic Days, from one of Sub Pop Records’ most revered royals. Mascis is set to play three shows at Howler for Brunswick Music Festival 2019.
For those in the know, Mascis’ solo explorations detour from the alchemy he shares with his Dinosaur Jr. brethren Barlow and Murph, who are notably back in action, in their original line up, and more prolific than ever. Solo, Mascis communes through softer, more refined and perfectly formed folk-rock.

J MASCIS is a pretty huge announcement from the newly amped-up festival and comes just a breath after they announced sought-after, teenage Baltimore indie-rockers Snail Mail, who are set to play Estonian House during the March 2019 event.
If the two already announced acts are anything to go by, the full program looks like it’s going to be a game-changer. But from all reports, it sounds like this will be the last of the early announcements and we’re all going to have to wait patiently for the complete line-up to drop.
“That’s it,” said Music Programmer Emily Ulman, “you’re not getting any more out of us until the full program announcement.”
So it won’t be until January that we get the full low-down, but March is already looking pretty sorted. Get excited: the full Brunswick Music Festival program is announced in January 2019.
