Following on from last year’s vibrant indie-pop gem ‘Naked’, Jess Day returns with ‘Gravity’, another anticipated slice of the Adelaide based singer-songwriter’s forthcoming body of work.
Written and produced by Jess, ‘Gravity’ is a raw, punchy track, anchored by Jess’s distinctive vocal and confident in its delivery. This latest single continues to herald a brand-new chapter and creative era for the accomplished performer and lyricist.
Jess says – “’Gravity’ is a bit different to my usual tumultuous break up songs. It’s about being hesitant as you’re falling for someone, for fear of past failures repeating themselves again – but sticking with the fear. It’s about needing the right someone to sort of hold your hand through that fear, with all your baggage, and it paying off where you eventually find yourself transcended into something really honest and safe. It turns out, they don’t hurt you like the others and there’s this newfound hope and adolescent-like wistfulness about love again.”
Jess also today announces that she will take her dynamic live show on the road this May, with her national Gravity Tour. Jess will visit venues in Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne with her full band, before wrapping up with a hometown show at Jive on Saturday 28th May. “I’m beyond excited to get out there again!” said Jess. And with a live set that’s been described as “highly charged” by HiFi Way, she will be raring to unleash brand new tunes and old favourites for fans around the country in May.
A triple j staple, Jess secured a coveted Unearthed Feature Artist slot in 2019 and has earnt across-the-board support on previous singles ‘Affection’, ‘Signals’ and ‘Rabbit Hole’. ‘Affection’ garnered Jess a win for Best Song at the 2020 South Australian Music Awards, where she also took the gong for Best Solo Artist. ‘Affection’ became one of the Top 15 most played Australian songs across all radio for multiple weeks in 2020, peaking at #5 on the Shazam Discovery Chart and landing on the Top 10 triple j Most Played list.
The music video for Jess’s October 2021 single ‘Naked’ starred Australian actor Brenna Harding, who most notably played Sue Knight in television series Puberty Blues. The video was filmed in Adelaide and directed by Jack Bielby and Thomas Schaefer (George Alice/Teenage Joans).

About JESS DAY:
Growing up in the isolated mining town of Roxby Downs, South Australia, a shift to city living in her pre-teens caused feelings of nostalgia and loneliness to arise in Jess Day. She found solace in the company of her favourite music.
Jess Day first achieved national recognition with the release of singles ‘Why Is She So Beautiful?’ and ‘Rabbit Hole’, securing Feature Artist and rotation placements with triple j and triple J Unearthed . Along with later single ‘Signals’, Jess’ profile continued to rise, her catalogue surpassing 1 million Spotify streams, and enjoying a particular peak with the release of ‘Affection’ in 2020, landing a Top 15 spot of the most airplay of Australian artists on national radio across the board.
As a touring artist, Jess has enjoyed a sold-out headline tour, as well as successes as national support act for Spacey Jane’s sold out 2021 national run of shows.

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
