Further to unveiling her highly-anticipated 8-track EP, Be Right Back last month, Jorja Smith has today unveiled a touching accompanying visual to one of its tracks, “Home”.

Shot by British Director, Rob Akin in Uxbridge, England – Jorja states that, “The song is about people in relationships that aren’t healthy or good for them – they deserve better but don’t know any different. It’s about people keeping up appearances. This video is reflective of the times I used to babysit whilst growing up, as well as my own family experiences – the video is just a take on what I’ve seen.” – a scene which is mirrored in the video as Jorja takes on the role of a babysitter whilst looking on at the mother of the children enduring a challenging time.

Be Right Back is the first body of work from Jorja since her 2019 critically-acclaimed, Mercury Prize nominated debut album, Lost & Found, for which she won her second BRIT Award for ‘British Female Solo Artist’ and earned herself a nomination for ‘New Artist’ at the GRAMMY Awards. Be Right Back finds Jorja delivering some of the most emotive and imaginative songs of her career. Over string-heavy production, she unveils a collection of songs that are diverse in their range but still extremely cohesive as a body of work – “It’s called be right back because it’s just something I want my fans to have right now, this isn’t an album and these songs wouldn’t have made it. If I needed to make these songs, then someone needed to hear them too.” – Jorja says of the project.

Be Right Back features a plethora of Jorja’s recent singles including “Bussdown” featuring Shaybo, “Gone” and also, her stunning March release, “Addicted”, of which all appear alongside 5 additional new tracks. In addition to the new video, Jorja will also be returning to the live circuit later this year and will be headlining not one but two UK festivals; Boardmasters in Cornwall on 15th August and London festival, All Points East on Friday 27th August.

Over the past three years, Smith has been celebrated unanimously across the world for her evocative song-writing, powerful delivery, pure emotion and unbridled talent as a young woman navigating her way through the world. Smith has graced multiple magazine covers, performed at awards ceremonies and on late night TV, and sold out shows across the globe, now surpassing over one billion global streams. Her 2019 hit single “Be Honest” featuring Burna Boy has become her biggest song to date at almost 250M streams worldwide. Smith continues to hone her craft and Be Right Back serves as a much-anticipated prelude for the release of her second album, expected next year.
