Melbourne singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Josh Hannan’s new single is an acoustic pop driven earworm, co-written with Australian artist Sam Fischer.
It features guest vocals from US artist Anna Hamilton, who has hit millions of streams thanks to her viral
TikTok performances.The song explores the fragility of young relationships and the departure of teenagers into adulthood.
“I wrote this song a year ago and loved the solo version but I always felt it would be incredible as a duet, I just didn’t know the right artist,” says Josh.
“Six months later I met Anna at a songwriting camp and as soon as I heard her voice, I was blown away and knew I had to ask her to be on the song.”
“When we recorded, we got carried away writing another song and almost forgot to record this one. We got told we had only 90 minutes left in the studio and so we tracked all her vocals, BVs and adlibs, in about 90 minutes and somehow she nailed every take. I could not have imagined a more talented, humble person to work with and I’m so stoked we got to make this song together.”
Anna shares: “Josh and I have written a few songs together over the past few months, and every time I am blown away by his talent. It’s really special to find somebody that you click with in the writing room, and when you find those people you cling to them. I love working with friends who are true to their own art and inspire me to create honestly, and Josh is one of those people. I was absolutely floored when he asked to be part of this song.”
