Beloved Australian troubadour Josh Pyke is ending 2022 on an extremely happy note, today announcing a 30-date regional tour in celebration of his recent seventh album To Find Happiness. An album soaked in sublime melodics and clever pop, To Find Happiness is a poignant and intimate journey that will undoubtedly transfix live onstage when Josh embarks on his mammoth upcoming journey around Australia, kicking off in October in Hepburn Springs, Victoria and closing out in December in Airlie Beach in Queensland. Also joining Josh for these special shows will be singer-songwriter and the incomparable vocalist for The Jezabels: Hayley Mary.
Opening on Friday 14 October with an all ages show at Palais Hepburn in Hepburn Springs, Josh and Hayley will be weaving musical magic in Queenscliff, Ballarat, Belgrave, Frankston, Healesville, San Remo, Mornington, Perth, Bunbury, Margaret River, Duncraig, Byron Bay, Coolangatta, Bribie Island, Canberra, Bulli, Ulverstone, Evandale, Hobart, Franklin, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Taree, Newcastle, Katoomba, Milton, Cairns, Townsville and, last but certainly not least, finishing up in Airlie Beach in Queensland on Sunday 18 December. With Taree sold out and multiple shows selling fast, don’t miss the opportunity to catch Josh armed with his beautiful new album when he rolls into a town near you, tickets are on sale now from www.joshpyke.com.au.
Emerging out of lockdowns and isolations armed with an unexpected new album, Josh’s seventh full length diverts from the typical “lockdown era” sonic fare, actively seeking and finding joy, acceptance and unbridled creativity amongst narratives of uncertainty and self discovery. Equally personal and universally relatable, To Find Happiness wholeheartedly lives up to its exploratory title, showcasing Josh’s signature charm and silken production alongside noticable creative expansion; and it was this organic and unexpected artistic inspiration fostered during the pandemic years that ultimately drove Josh to conjure a follow up to his acclaimed 2020 album Rome, as he explains,“I was essentially inspired by creativity. Obviously things from my personal life have influenced the songs themselves, but in terms of wanting to do another record so soon after Rome, it was the act of creativity, that flow state that inspired me to push through and make To Find Happiness. I felt a compulsion to create, and that creative drive just kind of led me to making To Find Happiness. It was a really inspired and creative time! This is my best work. I really believe that musically, lyrically and production wise, it’s a step up, and I feel like To Find Happiness is the sound that I want to build on from here. Still organic and authentic, but with an experimentation that felt less restricted than before”.
With 2022 offering artists and fans alike a chance to resume and reconnect in a live setting, witnessing the warmth and profound vigour Josh brings to the stage is certainly something to tick off the bucket list in 2022; and, as Josh reveals, these evenings are set to offer deep dives and a chance to connect with Josh onstage like never before, as he reveals, “This tour will be solo, so me, my loop pedal and few bits and bobs, but essentially just me on stage. I find it’s a really amazing way to get to the core of the songs and the core of connecting with the audience. I’ll also have the incredible Hayley Mary from the Jezebels playing support so there’s a solid chance that we’ll be joining each other on stage at some point!”.
Already in command of multiple top 10 albums, five ARIA award wins, multiple headline tours and an innate ability to cleave intelligent songwriting with infectious melodics, Josh continues to be renowned and revered as one of Australia’s most accomplished and beloved artists and storytellers. Able to flit effortlessly between bubbling joy and gripping melancholy without faltering in self indulgence, Josh’s trademark tunes are like a nostalgic warm hug; equally familiar and fresh and unendingly absorbing. And as if his creative output to date wasn’t impressive enough, Josh is also a seasoned children’s writer, with seven published kid’s books under his belt, as well as hosting the podcast It’s Raining Mentors alongside Elana Stone.
Bringing together Josh’s renewed appreciation for travelling and playing music after the uncertainty of the past few years, the impending To Find Happiness tour won’t just be a chance to christen Josh’s new album; it’ll also be a chance for Josh and fans alike to rediscover the joy of live music and shared creative experiences, as Josh concludes, “I’ve had a few personal things happen in my life in the last few years that have really highlighted the importance of appreciating and truly enjoying all the good things in the moment. That’s something I’m actively trying to do, so touring will be an extension of that. Travelling, playing music with friends to people that appreciate what I do will definitely be one of the amazing things to be appreciative of. It’s been such an isolating time in the last couple of years, so connecting with people in a room will be exciting! The few shows I’ve played this year have been joyous and had a really collective feeling, lots of singing along, so I’m keen to get more of that vibe”.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
