Northern Tasmania’s Junction Arts Festival (Junction) is set to take over Launceston from 5th – 9th September, shining the spotlight on the Apple Isle’s outstanding artists, musicians, local food producers, award-winning winemakers and boutique brewers.

Heading into its eighth year, Junction is fresh, intimate and deliciously Tasmanian. Positioned in and around Launceston’s multitude of architectural and natural gems, Junction’s program is both diverse and vibrant; it’s all about extraordinary experiences in unusual spaces.

Junction presents a combination of free and ticketed events, including a bustling Festival Hub in a 19th century square tucked between iconic architecture.  The free Hub hosts a selection of visual art, performances, playful disruption, food and wine; illuminated at night by after dark art trails, intimate performances, late night clubs, hidden performances, multicultural music and dance.

Junction’s annual celebration of Tasmanian visual art and performance, Nightlight encourages visitors to discover artwork that comes to life in the evening; take yourself on an after dark adventure in and around the Square.

Or if that sounds all too energetic you could always find yourself a spot in the Square or on the grass, purchase a plate of incredible Tassie produce, grab a glass of local pinot or brew and take in a few of the excellent home grown bands.

Spring is the perfect time to visit Tasmania’s magic north! Come for Junction and stay on to explore the many natural treasures of this beautiful region.
