Frontier Touring are excited to welcome Icelandic blues-rock band, KALEO back to Australia as they embark on their Payback Tour across the East Coast this February, with special guest Chance Peña*.

Last in Australia in 2023 performing at Bluesfest plus a sold-out Sydney headline show, the band will return in 2025 to perform highly anticipated shows at Brisbane’s The Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday 16 February, Melbourne’s Palais Theatre on Tuesday 18 February and the iconic Sydney Opera House Concert Hall on Thursday 20 February. The band will also head to Christchurch, NZ to perform as part of Electric Avenue Festival.

Hailing from Reykjavík, Iceland, KALEO – JJ Julius Son [vocals, guitar, piano], Rubin Pollock [lead guitar], Daniel Kristjansson [bass], and David Antonsson [drums] – were catapulted into the spotlight with the release of their 2016, double-platinum album A/B. ​

With instantly recognisable tracks ‘Way Down We Go’, ‘All The Pretty Girls’, ‘No Good’ and ‘I Can’t Go On Without You’, the groundbreaking release saw the band earn a GRAMMY nomination for Best Rock Performance and set the trajectory of their career. Their follow up 2021 release Surface Sounds only continued to shine a light on KALEO. Bringing blues-rock to the forefront, the album reached Top 20 in multiple countries, as tracks ‘I Want More’ and ‘Break My Baby’ cracked the Top 6 on AAA.

Weaving through popular culture, KALEO’s music has featured in a number of film and television programs including Marvel’s LOGAN, The Black List, Grey’s Anatomy, The Vampire Diaries and Teen Wolf. Making their mark on the industry with their unique blues-rock sound, the band’s music continues to be high in demand. 

Spending the back half of 2024 touring across the UK and Europe, KALEO are no stranger to the stage. Selling out multiple headline tours across the world, performing sets at Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza and recently opening for The Rolling Stones in Philadelphia, the band continue to impress fans and critics globally with unforgettable live sets full of emotion, high energy and perfect live vocals.

Joining KALEO on their Australian return is rising US singer-songwriter and producer, Chance Peña. Making music from an early age, Peña has cultivated a unique style of traditional storytelling infused with modern musical influences. 

Released this year, his album Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming has been hailed as “an impressive debut from a very talented artist” (Spill Magazine) and embraced by tastemakers and fans around the world. With more than 13 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, Chance Peña will bring his captivating live performance on this debut Australian visit next year. ​ ​
