“…six albums, opening slots for internationally-renowned artists, and status among New Zealand’s most elite reggae groups” – ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE
Maori reggae rockers Katchafire have released their ‘Revival 2.0 Remixed And Remastered’ album (January 9), seeing their platinum debut album from 2003 remixed by Logan Bell, Stephen Maxwell and Phillip McFarlane.
“Originally recorded around 2000, the ‘Revival’ album was the band’s first time together in a studio, our first time tracking and mixing and they weren’t as hands-on as they are now with the process. We felt that certain aspect of the finished album left us wanting, so remixing the album is something we’ve always talked about. Twenty-three years on we got the chance, and it was really fun to hear the original studio performances. They still stand up today and it made me feel real proud of those early recordings and the OG team”, Katchafire singer and founding member Logan Bell said.
Katchafire will join reggae icons UB40 for shows in Fiji and back home in Aotearoa.
Katchafire’s sound is defined by their seamless fusion of vibrant reggae rhythms with Māori influences, a unique combination resonates with listeners across the globe, making their music both deeply soulful and widely accessible.
As leading advocates for Māori music and Pacific reggae, for almost twenty-five years Katchafire have consistently produced songs that celebrate the importance of whānau (family), unity, and a strong sense of cultural pride. Their enduring commitment to these values is evident in every heartfelt melody they write and every dynamic live performance they deliver, ensuring that their music continues to inspire and uplift audiences everywhere.

AMNPLIFY – DB

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
