“I’m in a nightclub in 20 years and this just came on and everyone broke into choreographed dance because it’s the future and you implanted the moves into our brain.”
– Declan Byrne, triple j
“…while her career is just starting, she has the talent of a veteran.”
– Purple Sneakers
“…helped remind me of the joy of music and why I love the thrill of humans finding radical new ways to communicate about that “ache” that is buried at the centre of all good art… King IV is an artist in the truest sense”

Having barely caught her breath from a live debut at Melbourne’s 2017 Listen Out that “most certainly delivered” (acid stag), local artist King IV (King Ivy) unleashes meteoric, sound-defining single Bump, just in time for a performance at Melbourne Music Week.
Released across all platforms today following a premiere with Red Bull Australia, the bass-heavy track has already made an impression with community radio. Effectively the climax of the high-octane journey that previous single We Can Get It began, King IV’s commanding vocals are at their most aggressive and powerful yet on Bump.
Harnessing menacing samples and meaty bass synths to spine-tingling effect, Bump appeals to our baser human desire to experience something explosive and immersive. Craving more, and wanting it all to yourself. Losing your sense of self in a plea to live a high-intensity life that feels visceral and intoxicating.
Since her debut single No.One last year followed by Like I’m Back in early 2017, King IV’s “dark n bossy alt-pop” (triple j) has drawn praise and support from tastemakers and media alike, earning her the triple j Unearthed slot on her hometown’s Listen Out lineup. We Can Get It‘s infectious desperation saw it placed in rotation with community, digital and international radio, eventually spawning a lauded remix EP including a rainbow-tinged effort from Donatachi via Sidechains, featured on Spotify’s Top Shelf Electronic playlist.
With a whirlwind year under her belt and more collaborations, more music, and more live dates on the way in 2018, King IV has certainly earned her status as “one to watch” (Futuremag Music). But as 2017 draws to a close, King IV is determined to see it out with a bang – or rather, a Bump.
