A lucky crowd of heavy music fans in Maroochydore were treated to a rare and unique experience on Friday night at the Solbar. Melbourne grindcore maniacs King Parrot, who are currently on their Regional Rampage tour around Australia, were joined by none other than Dead Kelly for their first ever appearance live onstage.
Dead Kelly members ‘Pine Cone Throat’ and ‘Stanley Knife’ joined King Parrot for a stellar rendition of the classic KP track ‘Shit on the Liver’. A stage invasion by the crowd ensued and both King Parrot and Dead Kelly members made the most of a photo opportunity with the audience members.
Dead Kelly’s rise to popularity in recent years has been a result of their epic animated video series “The Legend of Borry”, extraordinary musicality and the development of cult members Pine Cone Throat and Stanley Knife.

King Parrot are currently on their Regional Rampage tour through Australia with US hardcore punks Child Bite. The tour has been drawing great numbers through the regional areas of Victoria, NSW and Queensland as King Parrot promote their latest release Ugly Produce that peaked at number 21 on the ARIA charts.
Earlier in the year King Parrot and Dead Kelly hinted at a possible collaboration as vocalist Matt Young was pictured with Dead Kelly members on both bands social media accounts, the results of which have yet to come to fruition, and it still remains to be seen if Dead Kelly will actually perform as a live band.
King Parrot continue their Regional Rampage tour with Child Bite (US) through Australia with remaining dates listed below.
