Praise for KINGSWOOD

“Fusing the sprinklings of Queen’s rock bravado in with the leather-clad swagged out rock of Queens of The Stone Age, and you’ve got a rough image of where Kingswood sit in this new chapter of theirs.” Triple J

“A lot of bands would like to say they’re the hardest working in Australia, but Kingswood have a stronger claim than most.” Tone Deaf

“Try and find me a harder working band than Australia’s own Kingswood. They are in the midst of a run of 120+ shows across Australia giving fans the opportunity to listen to the tunes off Home. Home features rich storytelling, some sweet guitars and beautiful harmonies. From the hopefull sorrow of “One Too Many Times” the celebration of acceptance and contentment  in “Burning Holes” and the shredding guitars in “Last One’s Kicking In”, Home is their strongest work to date.” The AU Review

“‘Burning Holes’ sees Kingswood sound more sonically and emotionally aligned than ever due to the competence of rich acoustic guitar and vocal harmonies between Alexander Laska and Fergus Linacre.” Beat Magazine

“This (Burning Holes) is hands down the best writing to come from the Kingswood camp in recent times, and heralds a significant return to form for the critically acclaimed 4-piece.” Heavy Mag

“Channelling themes of solace, resolve and independence, the nostalgic clip for Burning Holes features guitarist Alexander Laska in fine cowboy form.” The Music

With over 30+ dates already completed across Australia, Kingswood are today announcing an additional 40+ dates atop their Phase One ‘Hometowns’ touring schedule.

This announcement sees the band reach 100+ Australian tour dates (with more to come), taking their self-constructed bus ‘Peggy’ on the road to towns that haven’t been reached by nationally touring acts in over 40+ years. Record-breaking numbers for an act that is redefining the grit & heart that it takes to be a “working” musician today. Customising their own tour bus for the journey, Kingswood are traversing each corner of the country, rolling into town with their electric live show, ready to burn.

“We are proud to announce phase two of the “Hometowns.” tour, which continues to grow with the announcement of Northern Territory and Tasmanian shows and additional shows added in all other states. We are dedicated to creating the greatest tour this country has seen, bringing the Kingswood experience to a Hometown near you. And we’re not done yet, there are more dates to come.” Kingswood

To celebrate this tour announcement, Kingswood have also today released the music video for ‘Home’, the title track off their long-awaited new studio album that landed last week.

Placing #1 on the ARIA Australian Country Album charts & #2 on the ARIA Australian Vinyl charts on release week, ‘Home’ is the band’s latest single from the record, with the accompanying video filmed on banks of Australia’s Snowy River, at the Sailor’s Grave Brewery on Orbost.

“The “Home” video was filmed at the magnificent Sailor’s Grave Brewery in Orbost on the banks of Australia’s iconic Snowy River in an ode or tribute if you will. Fergus Linacre leads as our protagonist, a melancholic yet optimistic visual encounter of the emotional repair that is ‘Home.’ The video was filmed and edited by Darcy George Newton, with personal excerpts taken from the band’s adventures throughout Nashville, Tennessee. The marriage of the two worlds reflects the beautiful relationship the band have had between both countries throughout their career.” Kingswood

Title track ‘Home’ also serves as the album opener – a perfect way to set the tone of the record to follow. Like previous singles, ‘Home’ lets the songwriting dynamic of Alex Laska and Fergus Linacre shine; open lyricism meeting deft musicality at every turn.

“‘Home’ is an age-old tale of young love being forced to broach the harsh face of life, a duality of which we all contend with at some point.  Old roots meet new, whereby the branching can create opprobrious chasms. These chasms however lead to repair, growth, flourishing, the cycle of the ever blossoming flower, the very fuel of life itself, where all beginnings have an end, and appropriately all ends have a beginning. Home can represent a place in time and space or it can be the very moment, the air that allows one to breathe life into consciousness. It’s the rising sun of the album, a sonic manifestation of Kingswood’s own new dawn.” ALEX LASKA, KINGSWOOD

The ever-evolving story of KINGSWOOD births a new chapter with the release of their long-awaited new studio album,Home’. Having teased the record in recent months with dynamic singles including ‘Good Whiskey’, ‘Burning Holes’ and ‘One Too Many Times’, KINGSWOOD set it up early that this album would feature the band’s most cohesive and representative material to date.

Incorporating myriad sonic influences and a reinvigorated approach to their musicianship, ‘Home’ is more than just another step forward for the ARIA and APRA nominated group – it is a realisation of the last few years of tireless work and exploration of new sounds.

The release of ‘HOME’  follows on from a successful return to touring for KINGSWOOD. The band spent a large portion of 2022 touring their acclaimed third studio record Juveniles (and it’s inspired companion album, Reveries) internationally; completing a 30+ date tour that took KINGSWOOD to crowds in Nashville, Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland and Czechoslovakia before bringing them home to Melbourne.
