Designed for maximum energy dancing, the track was written and produced over the course of a year after being conceived in Sydney’s REC Studios while the duo was finishing their first EP. Featuring vocals from electronic hip-hop artist Dofu, “Pull Your Pants Up” is the second collaboration off their upcoming EP with the Sydney based artist.
“It started out with an accordion being recorded, then Peter jumped in and threw some super hype vocals over it, then the song was kind of half finished and forgotten about for about a year. Then it got dug up and re-built and has turned into a banger of a track.” – Korky Buchek
Made up of Tom Elliott & Peter Sabbagh, Korky Buchek have made it their mission to make people dance. The duo draws various inspirations from 90’s soul, disco, rock, house and hip-hop, labels like Dirtybird and OWSLA, as well as a collection of their contemporaries that they share studio space with, including Kwame, Savour The Rations, Half Nelson, Lauren, and Kymie. This blend of influences is interpreted in their music, and their bold but refined style has captured the attention of tastemakers and advanced them from the club scene to playing festivals (Mountain Sounds, HARD Festival, The Plot), supporting big names such as What So Not and LDRU, and smashing out their own headlining shows.
The Sydney duo’s string of successful releases in 2018, has seen them receiving an increase in internet attention, showing no signs of slowing down with this new single. Most recently, they were selected to play a DJ set alongside Kwame at Grass Is Greener, as well as the RL Grime x Baauer tour. They also sat in the producer seat for Sila’s track “BYM”, which has accumulated over 900K streams.
Being charted on triple j Unearthed, receiving additions to FBi and spot plays on triple j, as well as an East Coast tour of Australia, Korky Buchek have excited audiences and are getting geared up for their upcoming EP set for release in early 2019.
