Displaying his skills in full force to a packed mix-up tent and marking his debut performance at this year’s Splendour In The Grass, 19 year-old producer and songwriter Kuren today returns with new single ‘Mastercraft.’ Showcasing an evolution of his talents, ‘Mastercraft’ sees the multi-instrumentalist feature his own vocals for the very first time. Kuren’s perennial evolution as an artist and storyteller has recently been cemented by his signing with ONETWO, the label owned by his long-time idol and friend, Illy.

Developing a commanding live show that he took across the country with Slumberjack on their recent national tour, Kuren is never content with sitting idle. Taking his live show and new single on the road once more, he’ll hit 23 dates on Illy’s mammoth national tour this August in addition to a slot on this year’s This That bill

Performing live at at Splendour In The Grass, ‘Mastercraft’ showcases Kuren’s powerful vocals paired with vibrant percussive switch ups that seamlessly amplify his well-known emotive roots. Kuren describes the track as “You ever look around and see all these beautiful things but get a sense of some kind of devil at work? This song is about trying to understand where our reality actually falls between heaven and hell.”

Kuren’s self-taught skills were cultivated by late night YouTube tutorials, his 2016 breakout single, ‘Home’ ft. New York native Ben Alessi saw him transition from one-to-watch lists to an artist on everyone’s radar. After composing the soundtrack for the multi-award winning SBS production My Grandmothers Lingo, Kuren ended 2016 with a nomination for Unearthed Artist of the Yearat The J Awards
