“Absolutely Stunning” – Hot Press Magazine
.
Recently endorsed by Hot Press Magazine (Ireland), Music Connection, Shoutout LA (the U.S.), and Amnplify (in Australia) who said this about the singer: “Cynthia Catania is one of the most influential female performing artists in the last 100 years.” She has been performing and writing and recording music since age 13.
Catania’s latest chapter as a solo artist has her releasing her fourth single and most anticipated video Suitcase – the brainchild of actress, filmmaker, and woman on the spectrum – Sue Ann Pien. Pien has been making music videos since her foray into the field with The Secret Things’ “All The Way Down” and “Down By the Water”. A hot topic nowadays, this multi-talented director finds herself tagged in articles by Forbes Magazine – reporting on singer Sia’s “Music” film and autism controversy.

Video directed by Sue Ann Pien and Michael Khachadoorian
.
Catania and Pien have been a creative team since the early days of their partnership. Did we mention the two were married? LGBTQ partners in crime, these girls love mingling their gifts and indulging in nepotism!
Pien has been featured in TIME, ELLE & People Magazine as a former Mars100 candidate and is slated to star in a new Amazon series by showrunner Jason Katims (Parenthood, Away). The show is an American version of the award-winning Israeli ‘On The Spectrum’ series.
The Suitcase music video premiered today on Hot Press Magazine’s-Youtube channel and the single streams worldwide tomorrow on December 8th. Co-directed by Michael Khachadoorian, who also performs in front of the camera as the Hunter. The song, co-written by Catania and Beth Thornley, tells a classic story of lovers on the run “…You might graze me but baby, that is all” and the video takes it all up a notch in dark fairytale style, which promises to entice fantasy lovers everywhere!

“I remember sitting at the kitchen table,” Cynthia says, “listening to the recall mix of ‘Suitcase’. I had just edited out a part of the song with my collaborator Rob Cairns – who’d come up with this great re-tuned excerpt (of a thematic synth part) which shows up later in the song and really anchors the recording. We were listening, triumphantly to the final mixes (by Michael James and myself) and Sue Ann was over the moon about the song!! She had this vision for a music video – carrying over her Priestess character, who was first introduced in The Secret Things music video ‘All The Way Down’ and the evolution of that character, threading into her vision for ‘Suitcase’. How we’d film up in the picturesque Sequoia National Park, surrounded by giant redwoods, and create something fantastical – beautiful – and very cinematic. Somehow, she brought that vision to life! I couldn’t believe how she and her directing partner, Michael Khachadoorian (who was also lead DP and portrays ‘the Hunter’) with a skeleton cast and crew of just five pulled it off!”

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
