After receiving news live music would no longer continue at The Agincourt Hotel effective immediately, Last Words, Eora/Sydney’s emo, punk, and metal club night, launches at its new home, the iconic Lansdowne Hotel, this Saturday.
Running weekly every Saturday, the event combines live music, DJ sets, and a dedicated space for alternative music fans.
The launch night features Queensland’s Warbear plus local heavyweights Elara and Lotus Born. After the bands, DJs will take over, spinning punk, emo, metal, and party tracks late into the night. Expect giveaways, drink specials, afterparties and discounted entry for local gig-goers.
Founders Matt Raciti and Dan Harvey (B.A.D. Mgmt) share: “When we started Last Words, it was just two mates throwing a party we wished existed – loud, emotional, inclusive, and a little unhinged. We never imagined it would grow into the community it is now. To be moving into a venue as iconic as The Lansdowne is surreal, and it’s only possible because of the people who’ve screamed, moshed, DJ’d, performed, and poured themselves into this night with us. We’re endlessly grateful to every artist, every punter, and everyone who’s ever believed in what we’re building. This isn’t just a party – it’s a scene, it’s a family, and it’s only getting louder.”

Launched in December 2024 at the Agincourt Hotel, Last Words was built on a clear mission: to smash industry gatekeeping, foster community, and create a space where everyone feels safe and welcome. Alongside DJ’s spinning everything from My Chemical Romance and Bring Me the Horizon to Slipknot, Paramore, AFI, and Bullet for My Valentine, the event regularly champions local emerging artists, guest DJ’s, and afterparties for touring bands visiting Sydney.
The move to the Lansdowne Hotel brings fresh upgrades, including world class production, late night food options, a licensed smokers’ area, pool table, arcade machines, and even a sex toy claw machine, making the night a whole lot more fun.
The team at Good Intent are the current Venue Booker for The Lansdowne Hotel and over the past year at the helm they’ve brought Fontaines D.C. and IDLES through for kick-on DJ sets, hosted Spacey Jane, Miss Kaninna, Odette, Private Function, Yabun Afterparty, Keli Holiday, The Preatures, SXSW Sydney, Phoebe Go, Ocean Sleeper, POSSESHOT, Hockey Dad, Aleksiah and Tash Sultana (DJ Set) to name but a few.
Good Intent also book The Troc in Enmore, and as a wider music company offer a range of services across artist management, press, marketing and label services, and run a photography / videography studio Good Loco out of their Bulanaming/Marrickville-based office.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
