GRAMMY®-winning Icelandic-Chinese artist, composer, producer and multi-instrumentalist Laufey has revealed a short film for her latest single ‘Goddess’.
The picture was directed by Academy Award-nominated, Golden Globe-nominated and Spirit Award-winning director Celine Song (Past Lives), stars Laufey alongside Will Gao (Netflix’s “Heartstopper” and Wasia Project), and was shot in Brooklyn, NY on 35mm film.
Laufey explains, “It was so special to work with Celine on the ‘Goddess’ short film. She has such a clear vision with her work, which became immediately evident to me while watching Past Lives, and her ideas around ‘Goddess’ harmonized perfectly with the narrative of the song. There was immediately a shared understanding that made the partnership so seamless and I feel so lucky to collaborate with someone whose work I admire so much.”
The video made its global broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and across MTV’s global network of channels, as well as on the Paramount Times Square billboards.

‘Goddess’, which NYLON hails as “the most dazzling love-scorned song you’ll ever hear,” is the lead single from Laufey’s forthcoming release, Bewitched: The Goddess Edition, due April 26 via AWAL. The expanded edition features four brand-new original songs that Laufey wrote in the wake of finishing her 2023 critically celebrated album Bewitched.
The latest single was added to triple j rotation and landed in the Top 50 Most Played Songs at the station. Recently Laufey chatted to Abby & Tyrone on triple j Drive about the forthcoming album and was also featured as One To Watch on the Today Show.
2023 was a standout year for global superstar Laufey with her album Bewitched catapulting through the charts, debuting at #2 on Spotify’s Global, sitting at #1 on the ARIA Jazz & Blues Album Charts for 30 consecutive weeks, as well as #23 on the Billboard 200, #1 on Billboard’s Independent Albums Chart, and #1 on Current Traditional Jazz Albums Chart. It also marked the biggest debut for a jazz album in Spotify history, with the album’s hit single “From The Start” officially RIAA-certified Gold.
The break-out artist has received massive support from triple j, with her singles ‘Goddess’ and ‘From The Start’ being added to full rotation, landing at #121 for triple j’s Hottest 100, as well as consistently charting in the Top 50 Most Played at the station. The single has also landed in the Top 200 Shazam Charts while her debut Australian shows in 2023 sold-out in minutes ahead of even releasing the Bewitched album.
Today, she has 2 billion streams across all platforms and is the biggest streaming artist from Iceland in the world.

My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
