Ahead of her arrival into Australia and New Zealand this month for Groovin The Moo and headline shows, today UK-born, LA-based LAUREL returns with ‘Change‘ – available now via Communion. The first taste of new music to come in 2023, the new single follows the two-part EP series Limbo Cherry and Petrol Bloom.
Highlighting LAUREL’s experimental-pop flair, ‘Change’ sits amongst the alt-pop scene she was born into and the ever evolving electro-pop of Caroline Polachek and Charli XCX, aptly depicting the end of a chapter.
“Change is about the end of a relationship,” she explains. “You’re holding on and telling each other you will change if only you could have one more chance. In the end, it’s always just words, living in a fantasy, scared to let go of the dream rather than the person.”

With 2020’s ‘Scream Drive Faster’ landing in the Triple J Hottest 100, and her Like A Version about to hit five million streams, LAUREL will head to Australia in 2023 for a string of headline shows and the Groovin The Moo festival run. See below for full dates and information.
Born and raised near Southampton, UK, LAUREL started writing music when she was just 11, but things got serious when she was 13. Inspired by Laura Marling’s first album, she asked for her first guitar and a year later was playing sets of original material in local bars. Straight out of college, she moved to London at just 17 to become a solo artist. Signed shortly afterwards, she found herself living alone in a basement flat Hammersmith for the next three years, creating cinematic material on piano and strings.

Branded “the new face of British alt-pop” by Vogue, LAUREL has collaborated with renowned fashion brands including Ganni, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry and Isabel Marant. She released a string of well received EPs and singles in her early 20s, earning widespread praise from Clash, who were in awe of her “astonishing, precocious vocal” and The Guardian, who compared her to Lana Del Rey. Her confessional debut album, Dogviolet was released in 2018, when LAUREL performed on the BBC’s ‘Later… with Jools Holland’, and was praised by The Independent as “spine-tingling, attention-grabbing chamber pop”.
In 2022, LAUREL sold out London’s Village Underground and featured on Flume’s critically acclaimed album Palaces alongside Caroline Polachek, Oklou, and Damon Albarn. The pair debuted the song, ‘I Can’t Tell’, on the Coachella main stage and continued to perform together throughout 2022 with appearances on stages such as Red Rocks, Governor’s Ball, Austin City Limits, III Points, and Portola.

AMNPLIFY – ML
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
