Two of Australia’s most exciting music artists, Leah Flanagan and Alice Skye, are coming together for a one-off performance at the Leadbelly in Newtown on Sunday 4 February for the launch of Leah’s beautiful new album, Oceanic Sessions.

Few artists use emotion and allure the way Leah Flanagan does. She has been capturing hearts for almost a decade and after the success of 2016’s release Saudades, she now offers her enchanting third studio album – Oceanic Sessions. Recorded over three years (2013-2015) at Midnight Oil legend Jim Moginie’s Oceanic Studios in the Northern Beaches of Sydney, the album reflects the mentoring collaboration between Moginie and Flanagan and captures the many shades of reflection and refraction of human interactions.

Her new single is ‘Girl With The Bluebird‘, a cover of a classic Tex, Don and Charlie song, with artwork by Alice Skye. The third release from Flanagan is the perfect match for a nostalgia filled evening for those who love the crooners and those who appreciate sophisticated music sensibilities and a timeless voice.

22-year-old Alice Skye will be Leah’s special guest on the night, already in Sydney to support Colin Hay at the Enmore Theatre on Saturday 3 February. She has been garnering attention since 2015 for original songs that sparkle with a sensitivity and maturity well beyond her years. Alice’s first 2017 single ‘60%’ was premiered by The Music and reached #3 on the Amrap Airit Regional Charts in its third week. Her latest single ‘Poetry By Text‘ was added to their Face The Music 2017 playlist. Alice has been named one of the 5 new Indigenous artists you need to hear and was listed amongst The Courier Mail’s Top 5 acts to see at BIGSOUND 2017. Alice will release her debut album, Friends with Feelings, just in time for the Leadbelly show.
