Fresh from their European sojourn, Auckland’s own supergroup LEISURE have today revealed the final single “Too Much Of A Good Thing” from their upcoming album release TWISTER ahead of their headline Australian album release tour.
The new track’s groovy, voltaic rhythm transcends the norms of your average funk track and is the 1970s nostalgia trip you didn’t know you needed. The unusual melting pot of contributions in LEISURE mean the group is greater than the sum of its parts, with each member bringing in influences from 70s funk, 90s R&B, going all the way to dance music in early 2000.

“Too Much Of A Good Thing” is one of our favourites from the project,” said LEISURE. “It has an instant strut and knock to the beat; we wanted to make something that made you feel like walking into a party in slow-motion with an entourage in tow.
Lyrically, it’s a song about overindulgence and not knowing when to say no. It’s about chasing the instant gratification that is so often promised and promoted in today’s modern society and never quite being satisfied with the outcome. It’s about the rush of hedonism fading and wanting more from life (and yourself).”
This release comes after LEISURE’s recent international foray, which saw them play in London, Paris and Berlin, as well as flying the New Zealand flag at The Great Escape Festival in the UK. The success of each performance highlighted the group’s international appeal, with their songs taking on new energy and personality overseas.
“We made sure to keep things LEISURE,”said the group,“and wrapped up the trip with one of our most memorable writing camps so far, in a chateau estate north of Paris. We’re now excited to be home and getting ready to release the new project and head out on the road for a very special run of shows.”
The release of TWISTER on 26th July (released independently in Australia and New Zealand) will preface their much-anticipated Australian headline tour, which will be hitting venues in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney throughout September.
LEISURE’s fan-base continues to grow at a rapid rate with their combined streams now edging close to 70 million, and every show throughout New Zealand, Australia and Europe so far selling out. Can you really have too much of a good thing?

AMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
