“With a world-wide music career that has spanned fifteen years and a long list of achievements behind her, Lenka continues to stand strong within her carefully crafted niche of gentle yet bright pop music.” – EARMILK
“Lenka’s musical journey continues to evolve and a showcase of her ability to stay fresh and relevant, collaborating with Josh Pyke to deliver a track that not only celebrates love but also underscores the power of resilience in the face of life’s challenges.” – CELEBMIX
The wait for Lenka’s nostalgia drenched indie pop is finally over as Instraspectral comes out next Friday 17 November. A year celebrating the 15-year anniversary of her song ‘The Show’, (boasting over 73 Million views on Youtube) recently covered by Danielle from K-pop group NewJeans on a Korean TV show, and sold-out shows in Indonesia and China playing up to 2000 people per night, alongside US dates in LA and New York, Lenka is back for home town shows across Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane this November, joined by one of Sydney’s brightest pop prospects JEFFE.
Out Friday 17 November via her own label Skipalong Records, Instraspectral is a high energy and multicoloured exploration of collaboration across multiple varied genres. Produced by Dave Jenkins Jr over 2022 and 2023 in Eora/Sydney, together with Lenka they journeyed through musical influences from the 80s, late 90s, and early 2000s – ‘”I love being in the studio and leaning into various vintage styles to create something new. I’m so proud of the way this album turned out. It’s very special to me and I feel really connected to these songs” – says Lenka.
Painting the picture of the many different facets of Lenka’s life, Instrapsectral is lush with her love of motherhood; opening the album with a lullaby for her children, and ‘One Moment’ featuring their Berry Public School Choir, meanwhile delving into dynamics of relationships in recent single ‘Champion’ featuring Josh Pyke and ‘Unsaid’. With lyrics that explore the complexities of introspection through ‘Cabin in the Woods’, ‘Okay’, and ‘Hanging Tough’, first single ‘Silhouette’ draws on sugary and shiny pop sounds, joined by other 90s influences in ‘Real Real Love’s’ trip hop and the manic dream pixie girl world of ‘Badly’, and album closer and feature track ‘Ultraviolet’, which Lenka wrote with Julian Hamilton from The Presets.
‘Ultraviolet is the colour frequency higher than violet; it sits outside the rainbow. It is not visible to us and can be dangerous, but I kinda like this metaphor for living life’ – Lenka
Known for her songs ‘The Show’, ‘Trouble Is A Friend’ and ‘Everything At Once’, Lenka’s music has been featured in movies such as ‘Moneyball’, ‘Easy A’, and ‘Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging’, TV shows including ‘Ugly Betty’, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, and commercials for Microsoft, Coca Cola, and more, and collaborating with the likes of Sally Seltmann and founding member of The Avalanches Darren Seltmann. Capturing the hearts of her worldwide fanbase she has toured across Asia, Europe, and the US, including Strawberry Music Festival, Zhoushan Music Festival, Kunming Festival, Daydream Festival and Qingdao Phoenix Music Festival.
Do not miss your chance to catch this hugely accomplished artist and charismatic performer to celebrate her many milestones as part of her Instraspectral album launch shows with JEFFE at The Gasometer in Melbourne, Valley Loft in Brisbane and the Great Club in Sydney this November.

I don’t need you riding white horses to my house
I don’t need you buying red roses for my love
When it comes down to it I know
You are always in my corner right when I need ya
There’s no need to prove it, no no
You will always be the champion of my heart
Ch ch Champion ch ch champion
ch ch champion
You don’t need a suit of shining armour for my love
And you don’t need me wrapped up in a bow I know I’m enough.
When it comes down to it, we know
We’ll be lifting up each other, high as we can go
There is no need to prove it, no no
You will always be the champion of my heartChorus
Every road we’re taking
every choice we’re making
You need someone who understands
You take a dice and roll it
take a hand and hold it
And hope that it will stay that way
Can’t have it any other wayChorus
When it comes down to it, we know
We’ll be lifting up each other, high as we can go
There is no need to prove it, no no
You will always be the champion of my heartAMNPLIFY – DB
My nickname is “The Amnplifier”. Why? Because around here my focus is on being a conduit for providing greater outcomes that people come here for. My day to day “work” is living in the moment, and I love helping others concentrate on finding their connection to themselves through their experiences.
Why start a music environment? The truth is I love music, I love writing, and I love life. I work with musicians every day, and I feel certain that I will be until they put me in the ground. I have been managing people in businesses of some sort for over thirty five years so along the way I have developed some “wisdom” from my regular and constant “observations”.
Amnplify your experience. That is what we want you to do here, and if you want to let me know why you do, or don’t, shoot me a message on Facebook.
Hope you enjoy yourself here and find something that hits you somewhere.
