This will make you ‘feel like dancing!’…Newcastle’s Live at the Foreshore is back at its picturesque ocean-side home with the festival’s biggest lineup yet on Saturday 16 March. Following a brief year off, this day-long party in the sun returns bigger and better than ever with a huge selection of talent. It’s the perfect place to chill on a camping chair or spread out on a picnic rug as one huge stage plays host to hit after hit-maker and surprise guests.
If disco king, Leo Sayer can’t make Live At The Foreshore feel like dancing, nothing will. He brings his signature curls and incredible catalogue of dance-worthy anthems to the stage, playing everything from ‘When I Need You’ and ‘More Than I Can Say’ to classics like ‘You Make Me Feel Like Dancing’ and ‘Thunder In My Heart.’ Also hitting the Live at the Foreshore stage for a full set of her best work is the angelic Kate Ceberano. It wouldn’t be a party without the inimitable Marcia Hines. Whipping up a frenzy everytime she picks up the mic, this Australian icon brings a disco inferno and powerful presence to the Foreshore stage.
In a new twist for Live at the Foreshore, this pop-ballad legend and disco king and queen play full sets, but not before a complete greatest hits package from the rest of the pack. Appearing at Live at the Foreshore for the very first time, The Badloves bring their ‘Green Limousine’ vibes and Aussie anthem ‘The Weight’ to the stage. They’re joined by Aussie legend Shannon Noll who is sure to spark a huge singalong with hits ‘What About Me’ and ‘Lift’ blasting out of the speakers at full force. 1927 return to perform singles ‘That’s When I Think Of You’ and ‘If I Could’. Newcastle’s a pretty ‘Funky Town’ at the best of times but it’s going to be even funkier when Pseudo Echo hit the stage and ‘Someday, Someday’ Thirsty Merc said they would return to Live at the Foreshore – they’re back too. Wendy Matthews (‘The Day You Went Away’), Eurogliders (‘Heaven (Must Be There)”) , MI-SEX (‘Computer Games’) and Dale Ryder of Boom Crash Opera (‘Dancing in the Storm’) are bringing their a-game as are Newcastle legends DV8 who will take things ‘Back to Basics’.
Live at the Foreshore is anything but basic when it comes to atmosphere with incredible gourmet eats from the State’s best vendors and food trucks. Sip on an impressive selection of craft beer plus the finest boutique wines and delicious signature cocktails as the sun sets beside the sea. Eager fans can sign up for the exclusive presale HERE (for a $20 discount on tickets) which begins 9am AEDT tomorrow (Thursday 11 October). General public tickets are on sale from Monday morning 9am AEDT.
Who will jump back up for Live at The Foreshore’s legendary all-star encore? Who will be the surprise guests? There’s only one way to find out. See you at the Foreshore.
